I am doing a bit of family history and researching my Uncle Jim Samson. He was a merchant navy ships engineer lost in 1942 when his ship sank. His father, my grandfather, James Samson, was I believe a Master in 1936. I believe that Jim became a Master Mason in April 1940, not long before he left to join SS Bradfyne and cross the Atlantic. I would be interested to knowif he attended any further meetings. He left Belfast at the end of May 1940 and may have been home later that year. May I take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved this is an excellent user friendly site. I am a member of Cappagh 350. |
