Yes. in 1980/81 when I was a member of the Coast Guard and lighthouse keeper at Plymouth Light. He visited the lighthouse via CG helicopter. |

Got to meet Edward Rowe Snowe when I was a lighthouse keeper at Gurnet. He was brought to the lighthouse via CG HH-3F helicopter. He gave me several signed books he wrote. I was also a crew member of the lightship NANTUCKET II. Retired from the Coast Guard after 36 years of service as a full Captain in 2015. |

I\'m probably the oldest kid beneficiary of the Flying Santa and while my story has been told many times, I still personally can hardly believe that I was lucky enough to have been a kid of the Flying Santa era when Edward Rowe Snow was our own very special Santa, Santa to the lighthouse kids of New England. It was the most wonderful thing ever to happen to a lighthouse kid and made each of us count the days to December. I am thankful beyond words to know Flying Santa continues, continues to bring special love to the children of the Coast Guardsmen of today. Once again, this old kid send love and thank you\'s to Flying Santa. |

I look at this page from time to time ad it always brings back fond memories. As I a child I received gifts dropped by Mr. Snow while we were living at Wood Island Light and Sankaty Head Light in the early to mid 70\'s. As a parent many years later my children participated in the program at Portland Head Light in the 90\'s It\'s great to see the program continue and to see folks dedicated to keeping its history alive.
