Palestinian unity government 'resigns'
The Palestinian unity government formed last year in a bid to heal rifts between Hamas and president Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah party resigned on Wednesday, an official said.

Earthquake jolts Kathmandu
An earthquake shook Kathmandu and its adjacent districts early Wednesday. People came out to the streets and open spaces screaming as the tremor jolted Kathmandu soon after dawn. Some people were seen coming out of their homes in nightgowns.
