Mockers: They Have Been Warned
Here's of run-down on some of the scoffing. Keep in mind that we can rejoice in this as it fulfills scripture: "Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, 'Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.'"

Upswing in fighting in Ukraine sends civilians fleeing and puts truce in doubt
Ukraine is experiencing its most serious increase in fighting in three months, sending more civilians fleeing and raising fresh doubts about the viability of a shaky February truce. Another Ukrainian soldier was killed this weekend bringing the death toll in the past week to eight, with another 40 wounded in attacks in eastern Ukraine by pro-Russia separatists, the most intense clashes since the ceasefire agreed in Minsk.

Bird flu ravaging commercial flocks remains mysterious
It's been five months since the H5N2 bird flu virus was discovered in the United States, and producers have lost 21 million birds in the Midwest alone. Yet, researchers...know little about a bird flu virus that's endangered turkey and egg-laying chicken populations... Scientists...are puzzled by the H5N2 virus' spread — even amid heightened biosecurity measures — and apparent lack of widespread deaths in largely unprotected backyard flocks.

Yemen: Saudi Arabia used cluster bombs, rights groups says
The Saudi-led coalition carrying out air strikes in Yemen has used US-supplied cluster bombs banned by much of the world, a rights group has said. Human Rights Watch (HRW) said it had evidence that the bombs were used at least twice against Houthi rebels. There were no reports of casualties.

Gulf states seek quid pro quo of US assurances, weapons, for support in Iran deal
In order to back a nuclear agreement with Iran....the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council are seeking new weapons technologies and major security guarantees from the White House to ensure....a military edge over...Iran... ...Senator Lindsey Graham...“I’m very worried that President Obama will promise every military toy they’ve always wanted and a security agreement short of a treaty...”

Death Toll From Nepal Quake Surpasses 7,000
A Nepali police team has pulled out the bodies of about 50 people, including some foreign trekkers, from an avalanche-hit area, officials said on Sunday, as the death toll from last month's devastating earthquake climbed to over 7,000.

Deadly attacks hit Iraqi capital, north-west as campaign to defeat IS continues
At least 13 people have been killed by a car bomb in Baghdad in one of the deadliest attacks in the Iraqi capital this year. "At least 13 people were killed and 39 wounded in a car bomb facing a popular restaurant in the Karrada area," a police colonel told news agency AFP.

Isis militants slaughter more than 300 Yazidi captives in northern Iraq after thousands were taken captive from villages
More than 300 Yazidi prisoners have been slaughtered by Islamic State militants near Mosul in Iraq. According to the Yazidi Progress Party, hundreds were murdered by Isis on Friday in the Tal Afar district. It comes after around 40,000 people were kidnapped at gunpoint when the terrorists attacked Yazidi villages last summer.

What Was That Rumble? Officials Confirm 4.0 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Michigan
If you thought you felt an earthquake on Saturday, you’re not alone. Officials with the United States Geological Survey said an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.0 and a depth of focus of 5.9 km was measured around 12:23 p.m. about nine miles southeast of Kalamazoo. It’s one of the strongest earthquakes ever experienced in Michigan.

40 Person Mob Assaults 2 Jews on Paris’ Boulevard Voltaire
Two Jewish residents of Paris were assaulted on the street by a gang of about 40 people on Friday, Israeli French JSS News reported on Friday. ...The gang of attackers were associated with anti-Israel groups Gaza Firm and the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign... The attack marks the latest in a growing antisemitic trend in France and Europe as a whole.

Russia Conducts Nuclear Bomber Flight Near Alaska
Two Russian nuclear-capable bombers intruded into the U.S. air defense zone near Alaska last week in the latest saber rattling by Moscow, defense officials said. The Tu-95 Bear H bombers flew into the Alaska zone on April 22. A 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit off Papua New Guinea today, 110 kilometres south-southwest of the town of Kokopo, the US Geological Survey said, just a day after a 6.7 magnitude tremor in the region.

Local Bird Flu Found In Hawk In Western Minnesota
A hawk in western Minnesota is the first wild bird in the state to test positive for the bird flu virus since the beginning of an outbreak that’s killed more than 15 million birds in the Midwest this spring, state wildlife officials announced Thursday.
