Deadly blasts hit Pakistan churches in Lahore
Two bomb blasts have killed at least 10 people near two churches in a Christian neighbourhood of the Pakistani city of Lahore, local officials say. At least 50 people were reportedly hurt in the explosions at the Catholic church and Christ Church in the city's Youhanabad area. Violent protests erupted after the blasts, with large crowds already in the area to attend Sunday mass.

Islamic State fighters in Libya battle militia near Sirte
Fighting has been raging in Libya between Islamic State (IS) fighters and a militia alliance from the west of the country, near the city of Sirte. A spokesman for militia brigades told the BBC that two of their men had been killed in the clashes. Jihadists affiliated to Islamic State seized government buildings and a state radio station in Sirte last month.

US shuts down Saudi embassy amid security fears
The US embassy in the Saudi capital Riyadh has cancelled all consular services for Sunday and Monday due to "heightened security concerns". In a statement, the embassy said consular services in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dhahran would not be available. It urged US citizens to take extra precautions when travelling in Saudi Arabia and to keep a low profile.

Prime Minister to attend 'United for the land of Israel' counter-rally in Tel Aviv
...Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed his attendance for the Sunday demonstration, dubbed "United for the Land of Israel." Chile wildfire reported contained; many evacuees return home
A wildfire burning near the Pacific ports of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar was contained but still a threat Saturday, authorities said, as many of 7,000 people who had been evacuated began returning home. About 200 firefighters continued to battle the blaze, which started Friday afternoon at an illegal dump and was quickly spread by strong winds, leading officials to declare a state of emergency.
