John 7:1 "After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him."

The topic of Jewry becomes very easy to understand once a person stops throwing both the Northern Kingdom (Israel) and the Southern Kingdom (Jews) into one basket as if that is where they belong. They were not of the same mind set then nor are they today.

While the Northern area of Galilee (where Israel, the kingdom, once was established) lend their ears to our Lord's teaching, adding to the ecclesia daily, those of the Southern Kingdom (Jewry) did not. Read the scripture again: John 7: 1 "After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him".

Now, let's look, once again, this teaching on the Jews.

The Jews (The Southern Kingdom)

Regarding the differences between Jews and Israel, while God made many promises to Abraham, one being that all nations shall be blessed through Abraham, God also made other individual promises and prophecies to the individual twelve tribes of Israel.

One of these promises include that the tribe of Judah would continue to be the administrators of the Mosaic laws until the Messiah returns. "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of people be." (Genesis 49:10) This specific prophecy included the continual teaching and administration of the laws He gave to Moses, which are now viewed by present day Jews as the only way of salvation

However, as the minister of circumcision (servant of the Jews) for the truth of God, they failed to accept that Jesus came to confirm all the promises made unto the fathers, the patriarchs of Israel, the nation of promise, which included the fulfillment of the Law. (Matthew 5:17)

Jesus Christ was one of their own (of the Tribe of Judah) yet they received him not. It is like one's family today, isn't it? They are the last ones to put any credence into anything said by one of their own. Apparently, they are smarter than one of their own. Kind of stupid, isn't it, when you think about it? Where does intelligence begin and end within the same DNA structure?

Take a look at this scripture regarding the coming of Shiloh. "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of people be." (Genesis 49:10) What happens when Shiloh comes (returns)? The "gathering of the people". What people? Just the Jews?

Doesn't that sound like, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV) 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

I know that once a person can understand that the Jews and Israel are not the same entity at this time, they will better understand it is a disservice to the ecclesia (The Body of Christ) to include those (Jews) who are still the same Jewry as they were in the days that Christ walked the earth. They are two separate sticks as the Bible tells us.

Israel, the Northern Kingdom that includes Gentiles have accepted their Messiah and are busy preaching the Gospel so that the many who have been called can become The Chosen. However, we know that while there are Many who are called few are Chosen. Matthew 22:14

So, what do you do with Israel? Do you thank God for them, if you are a Gentile who was grafted into the Root?. Do you thank God if you are Israel, who is of the Natural Olive Branch, now grafted into the Root?

The Gospels speak quite a bit about the two parties which are now united in the One, who is the Root, Jesus Christ. Each had a tendency to think themselves better than the other back at the time they were receiving the gospel. Has, it changed any today? And the simple fact of the matter is, they are one, they are the ecclesia.

The Gentiles believe themselves to be a separate dispensation and not of Israel. Apparently they have not read Hebrews and Romans. As for the Jews, they will remain blind until their blinders are removed.

There is a day of reckoning coming for the Jewish Religious Hierarchy. That same Hierarchy ruled in the days of Jesus Christ and as most religious bodies that operate in the traditions of men, they opposed Jesus Christ to the point of arresting Him, putting Him on trial and demanding execution.

This body, called the Sanhedrin is made up of 71 members, including both Pharisees and Sadducees and are presided over by the chief priest. It, once again, became an official body within the nation of Israel in 2004. Can you imagine the power that they exert in the Land of Israel? These are your Jewry.

I hope that, by now, many will come to the realization that the two, Israel (ecclesia) and Jews are not the same nor are they united.

That will not happen until they (Jewry) call out to the True Messiah, For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord." Matthew 23:9.

He did not sit in classes presided over by professors who, themselves had sat in classes under professors that taught the same "handed-down" mistakes of understanding the scriptures.

That is not to say it was done deliberately but nevertheless the same mistakes continued to be passed down. One of which is, who makes up the Body of Christ (ecclesia).

Wake up Church!

Many believe that Matthew deals with only the Jews. But do they even know who the Jews are? NOPE!

However, let's ask Google who wrote Matthew and you will get a variety of answers but the conclusion is one that needs to be noted:

For whom did Matthew Write?

I have heard it taught in several places that Matthew was originally written in Hebrew and its intended audience was the Jew (which does help explain why it seems a bit more vague on key Christian concepts). But recently I have been told that there are no Hebrew manuscripts of this text. I assume at least that he meant there are no Hebrew manuscripts that out date the Greek ones.

So this makes me wonder that if there are no Hebrew manuscripts of Matthew why would one argue this point? Essentially the question is then, who is the intended audience?

Conclusion

Matthew's attention to the Jewish scriptures and respect for Jewish customs, as well as the structure of this gospel, indicate that it was written primarily for Jewish Christians rather than pagan converts.

Notice, it was believed to be primarily for Jewish Christians. So, who are these Jewish Christians? The answer goes right back to what Jesus said when He said He came unto the Lost House of Israel....which Gentiles may be very surprised to learn is of what the Christians Church includes.

Do, the Gentiles even know who they are? NOPE! They might be real surprised if they only knew.

Why do I say that? Because of what Jesus said. "I come not but unto the Lost House of Israel."

Where did those Israelites go that Jesus came to save? How about into the very lands where the Gentiles lived. They mixed with the Gentiles.

Now, if Jesus came only unto the whole House of Israel, doesn't logic tell you that the Gospel came primarily to them?

And who benefited from that gospel being given to them first? A few Gentiles who, you could say, are hanging onto the shirt-tails of those of the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

You see, the Lord knew who were His and that they would spread Christianity into all the world.

What most Gentiles do not seem to understand that an Israelite is not a Jew. But both of them once made up the Kingdom of Israel until they were divided and when Jesus comes, they will be united once again.

Technically, a Jew is of the House of Judea and Benjamin and some Levites whom make up the Southern Kingdom.

Bottom line, they are both Hebrews. And, as I said, the Gentiles are blessed to be able to have been grafted onto the early church made up of the Lost Tribes of Israel that spread into all the world.

A Gentile better hope that he is blessed the same as the Hebrews that made up the Northern Kingdom of Israel.

Matthew is written for those that would receive the Gospel, to the Israelite first and then to the Gentile.

I know that there are those out there that believe they are a Gentile Church but they are not. There is no such thing as a Gentile Church

All believers in Jesus Christ are made up of the ecclesia (the Assembly, Congregation, Chosen, People of Faith all the way back to Abraham)

Therefore, if you are using this as a reason to believe in a pre-trib. Rapture because you see yourself as a Gentile, who is surely desearving of a Rapture, you are standing on a "Jester's Jello".
