50 Reasons Why Bible is Not God's Word, Debunked - Part 01

1. Who incited David to count the fighting men of Israel?
God did (2 Samuel 24: 1 )
Satan did (I Chronicles 2 1:1 )

* God permits the Devil to do this, as he did with the test of Job (allowed Satan to do certain things to accomplish God's Will ).

2. In that count how many fighting men were found in Israel?
Eight hundred thousand (2 Samuel 24:9 )
One million, one hundred thousand (I Chronicles 21:5 )

* The Septuagint reads in 1 Chronicles 21:5 - "a thousand thousand and one hundred thousand who draw a large knife". For 2 Samuel 24:9 the Septuagint reads - "eight hundred thousand who drew a large sword".

3. How many fighting men were found in Judah?
Five hundred thousand (2 Samuel 24:9 )
Four hundred and seventy thousand (I Chronicles 21:5 )

* On 1 Chronicles 21:5, The Greek Septuagint actually says 480,000, not 470k. On 2 Sam 24:9 it says 500,000. in this case, it could be given up over estimation. It is common for ANY person to say 500,000 when its really something like 480,000 as a rounding up estimation.

4. God sent his prophet to threaten David with how many years of famine?
Seven (2 Samuel 24:13 )
Three (I Chronicles 21:12 )

* This one is very easy, and actually fits into my paradigm. The Greek Septuagint has them both as "three". The Hebrew Masoretic, on the other hand, has one listed as seven and the other three. Knowing that the Pharisees at the council of Jamnia (AD 90) modified the Hebrew Masoretic, it should be no surprise that the Greek Septuagint is correct, while the Hebrew Masoretic is not.

5. How old was Ahaziah when he began to rule over Jerusalem?
Twenty-two (2 Kings 8:26 )
Forty-two (2 Chronicles 22:2 )

* Again, exact same thing here. The Septuagint records them BOTH as "Twenty-two".

6. How old was Jehoiachin when he became king of Jerusalem?
Eighteen (2 Kings 24:8 )
Eight (2 Chronicles 36:9 )

* With the Septuagint both are eighteen. Note the exact same Greek term on both.

7. How long did he rule over Jerusalem?
Three months (2 Kings 24:8 )
Three months and ten days (2 Chronicles 36:9 )

* Septugaint has it as three months on the one and three months and 10 days on the other..

Again, using common estimation techniques, they are both if rounded down, 10 months..

8. The chief of the mighty men of David lifted up his spear and killed how many men at one time?
Eight hundred (2 Samuel 23:8 )
Three hundred (I Chronicles 11: 11 )

* In the Septuagint, AGAIN, both passages agree. Both are eight Hundred. Click below and note the same exact Greek term (the one that even looks like eight transliterated).

9. When did David bring the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem? This question is a misrepresentation of the texts.

Masoretic Text is different from the original Old Testament:
1.The Masoretes admitted that they received corrupted texts to begin with.
2.The Masoretic Text is written with a different alphabet than the original.
3.The Masoretes added vowel points.
4.The Masoretic Text excluded several books from the Old Testament scriptures.
5.The Masoretic Text includes changes to prophecy and doctrine.

34. Was John the Baptist Elijah who was to come?
Yes (Matthew II: 14, 17:10-13)
No (John 1:19-21)

* The scripture is completely full of cryptic symbolism, particularly in reference to prophecy. So, obviously, John the Baptist was not literally Elijah.

35. Would Jesus inherit Davids throne?
Yes. So said the angel (Luke 1:32)No, since he is a descendant of Jehoiakim (see Matthew 1: I 1, I Chronicles 3:16).

* In this case, it is refering to his actual children. Jesus was not biologically a descendant of Jehoiakim.

36. Jesus rode into Jerusalem on how many animals?
One - a colt (Mark 11:7; cf Luke 19:3 5).
Two - a colt and an ass (Matthew 21:7).

* Answer. According to the eyewitness Matthew, Jesus sat on the colt. This is in agreement with what Mark and Luke stated. Besides, the colt was too young to be separated from the mother (the Ass).
