All the World and the Quicksand Issue

Have you ever been in the position of saying truthful things and have the majority of people simply disregard what you have said? (And these are people you know or at least felt like you knew.) I do indeed receive many emails that take issue to what has been said in my articles, but, alarmingly so, too few of those from who I “thought” I knew.



The articles I write are inspired by God’s Holy Word and it is for His glory and praise and none other. Every single point in His Word is about Him—Jesus Christ—as the Creator and as Savior of the world. It may sound as if I have chosen to be disparaging to those who choose not to read my articles or agree with them, but that is not my intention.



“Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is” (Mark 13:30-33).



It is amazing, what people are willing to read and what they are not. I have used two words before: “responsibility” and “accountability.” I have done so many times. These are two of the most hated words that this world could be faced with, and it is because they evoke a knowledge that each individual will be punished for his or her actions or lack thereof.



The proverbial pendulum is set, and it swings both ways (and we know this from the Bible). It is God’s Holy World that is equated to be a “Double-Edged Sword” and we know that it cuts in both directions. These two devices are meant to cause pain and suffering, as well as death, and we as humans run from these truths with all due haste.



It is always a good thing to know where we stand on things. For most this has become a veritable pool of quicksand. It “looks like the real deal” until you try and walk on it. The same goes for the “prosperity” and the “feel-good” ministries, which are false according to the Word of God. But then here we are facing the pool of quicksand and wondering if it is real or not. The only way to know for sure is to test it according the Word of God.



There is one small problem though; there are some in the pulpits of America who are very good orators and their message is to give and give—especially if it is to them and for them. As a born-again believer I must say, they are telling you to walk after them, rather than Jesus Christ. It’s as if they feel they could walk on water and if you follow them, so will you. Then as the quicksand gets to your neck, you start screaming for help!



It is my belief, that those in these pulpits who are blaring such nonsense will one day stand before the Lord God Almighty...and know their future. Suffice to say, the Lord will deal with them on His own. It’s just that for me at least, I have a horrible feeling inside, that they will be singled out to a degree. I would hate to be in their shoes. I hope and pray they enjoy their time in luxury and wealth and that the degree of delight they enjoy will be sufficient to last them through an eternity in the lake of fire.



It would appear that most people do not accept the concept that there are only two ways to go after this life here on earth. Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and have eternal life in heaven or do NOT accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and have eternal life in hell and the lake of fire. That’s it, that is all there is. I did not say this, God said it in His Holy Word. This alone should be sufficient to cause people to stop and ponder their particular situation with God. Again, from God’s Word to your ears.



At this point, I must make a statement. It is to the credit of Satan and his ilk that the majority are so confused by the Word of God. The Bible is primarily set-up for the believer. He or she should then go and tell everyone else about the Lord. Otherwise the masses will never be able to make sense of what is written in the Bible, thus the Great Commission. And it is up to the born-again believer to make sense of the Word of God for the unsaved individuals. Point in case, the unsaved read words and find that they have no meaning for them, and yet for the believer the depths of the Bible are open.



The unsaved are not morons or the like, they simply are not given the wisdom of the Lord to understand His Holy Word. We, the born-again believers are to reach out to them (the unsaved) and give them the words and what they mean—sort of like teachers. It is in our efforts where the Lord God looks and listens to what we say and do, whether we walk with Him in faith and love. Do we extol the wisdom of His Word or are we listening to the words of the other guy (Satan) and his ilk. Please read the following verse and then read it again and examine how this applies to you.



“And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him” (John 14:4-7).



This Scripture begs the question of you to answer, “Where does your treasure lay?” Do not for any reason allow your WANTS of this life to sway you. This life is just long enough for you get a small taste of what life is all about and then for you to make a decision of where your eternal life is to be lived. In other words, your life here on earth is personal and so is your relationship or lack thereof with Jesus Christ. How you decide to answer that question is personal as well; it is personal between you and the Lord.



In view of the prophecies of the Word of God, we are being told what is truth and what is not. Your eternal destination is for you to decide. All of a sudden, the reality of, “Three score and ten years (70 years),” comes home to roost and you begin to understand. The apostle Paul dealt with this same issue in his life, as you will deal with it in your life.



“And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).



It matters little if you believe the Word of God or not, the Lord will do as He so wishes—HE is God. If by chance, you desire to understand the Word of God more than you do now, then simply accept the Lord’s free gift of salvation and then ask Him for His wisdom and discernment. What do you have to lose by doing so? If you turn that same statement around, you will see that you will lose everything, to include your eternal life with Christ.



“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
