This is indeed a fascinating video, especially the first parts about the red ring not lighting up, and how that failed ring looked like a lotus, and how the lotus was an occult symbol.

Yes, its a shame the beautiful lotus has been corrupted by so many occult orders and societies, from the ancient Egyptian and Greek, which used it as caps of its temple pillars, to Madame Blavatsky, to eastern gurus who have turned the lotus into an idol. Once I sent a card to some friends at an Orthodox Church in Seattle, from Maui, and I did so innocently because I liked the lotus picture--they were shocked! Apparently in the Orthodox Church this lotus with the hexagram behind it were considered a very bad symbol, even though the picture was beautiful, and I didn't associate anything wrong with the hexagram at that time. It was a perfect example of something beautiful turned to a deceptive purpose--echoed in the video by the transgender Victoria's secret model, who truly is beautiful, but deceptive.

So one may ask, was the failure of the red Olympic lotus to turn into a ring, and thus allow all five rings to light up, deliberate or an accident? Whatever it was, occult symbolism can easily be drawn from this. No guessing needed.

I still hope lotus flowers and decorations will be in Heaven, though, used to honor God.

Another very interesting part of this ceremony, on another note, was the proclaimed list of historic Russian writers and artists who exemplified the culture of Russia. The ones named indeed were among the greatest on my list: Tchaikovsky, Pushkin, Chekhov, Tolstoy, and a painter (whose name I forget now although I love his work in theatrical design, such as the sets for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the ceiling of the Paris Opera. I saw his sets as child ballet student--the sets were painted on curtains so that they could travel with the ballet.) Pushkin and Chekhov wrote the great opera "Eugene Onegin" which was on Live from the Met a few Sundays ago on Public Television. Tolstoy's War and Peace is one of the unquenchable classics of literature. Why am I including this comment? To point out that Russia does have an incredible heritage, which we should not denigrate in our excessive pride.
