JOHN 17:15 IN CONTEXT.....................







John 17:15

"I do not pray that you should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one."




Jesus knew that He was about to be crucified, and wanted God , His Father, to protect His disciples and apostles on earth after He was killed so that His 'great commission' could be fulfilled. If they were not protected by God, Himself, there could have been a blood-bath of His followers. This was Jesus's prayer 'for the time', NOT FOR ALL TIME.




THE 'THREE' COMINGS OF THE LORD:




The FIRST coming of the Lord fulfilled the prophecies of the three spring feasts of the Lord with His feet ON THE EARTH. (first coming to ground)




The NEXT coming of the Lord will be His 'appearing' to rapture His Church/bride by meeting Him IN THE AIR. (appearing in the air)




The LAST coming of the Lord will be to fulfill the prophecies of the fall feasts of the Lord with His feet ON THE EARTH. (second coming to ground)

It's interesting that I'm looking at the passage and see nothing about Jesus praying "this is just a temporary prayer" so where are you getting the teaching that this prayer of Jesus is not universal in scope? In other words: "This was Jesus's prayer 'for the time', NOT FOR ALL TIME" <- why are you teaching this? Where in this passage are you seeing this taught? Where anywhere in the bible are you reading this? Where is this coming from?

17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. <- is this "not for all believers, but only the apostles on earth after He was killed"?
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. <- who is this for? Just a select group of people in the first century? Is this part of the prayer also "not for all time"?

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; <- who is Jesus praying about? A select few? Or ALL OF HIS DISCIPLES FOR ALL OF TIME?



There's only two in the scripture; one is already past, one to come. There's nothing- not a peep anywhere- in the bible about this "half coming between comings" it doesn't exist but in the imagination.

1Thess 4 definitely teaches a meeting in the air at the coming of the Lord who descends from heaven with a shout. Nothing about Jesus hitting the brakes half way down then re-ascending while taking all of the Christians out of the world against His own prayer only to turn back and re-descend... this is all so ludicrous.

There's only one coming of the Lord in the future, and the rapture (which is a meeting in the air, and not a "taking out of the world all the professing Christians") occurs at that time; as plainly taught by Paul.

Quickly to add about the Fall Festivals, which is what the Revelation is all about; we can also easily determine the exact day of the rapture. This is because, what is happening at this time? Let's see:

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

So it's the resurrection isn't it? Okay and when does the resurrection occur on the Fall Festivals? Let's see:

Joh 6:39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

And the last day is what?

Joh 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

It's that "Great Day" and it is Tishri 22 and the rapture is the last thing that will happen at the culmination of the Fall Festivals
