Sanctioning Evil

Madness on a global scale continues apace.

This week, “America’s Pastor,” Rick Warren, tweeted that—wow!—former pop star Cat Stevens (now Muslim convert Yusuf Islam) just happened by his house to say hi, just when Pastor Rick was working on his sermon!

I wonder if the sermon title is: “How to Build Bridges to Islam as a Western Dupe and Hope They Kill Others Before They Get to Me!”

It is unconscionable that America’s top evangelical leaders are engaged in helping the Muslim Brotherhood achieve its goals. One of the key tactics of the MB is to engage in “interfaith dialogue” with gullible Western religious leaders. You can rest assured the MB isn’t interested in hearing about how to become a Christian.

Then, in an online story at the Jerusalem Post, it was revealed that PA/PLO President/Terrorist Mahmoud Abbas is urging European countries to establish boycotts on goods made in the “West Bank.”

I found the irony of an ad for World Vision next to the article too good to pass up.

World Vision, the humanitarian relief organization, has an unfortunate track record of defaming Israel. No doubt many, many pro Israel supporters contribute to World Vision.

The entity helped organize a U.S. speaking tour entitled “Hope for the Holy Land,” featuring anti-Israel speakers Sami Awad, Lynne Hybels, and Mae Cannon. Ms. Cannon works for World Vision.

The tour was choreographed to appear as an even-handed plea for peace in the Holy Land (also known as Israel). In fact, it was a thinly disguised attack on Israel’s legitimacy.

In 2008, a full three years after Israel took the extraordinary step of leaving Gaza, World Vision published an article on its website warning of contaminated water in Gaza. The villain? The Israeli “blockade,” of course.

Some of us are aware that Gaza declared war on Israel when its citizens voted-in Hamas, and that lethal rocket attacks have plagued the Jewish state ever since.

Last year, in response to an Australian effort aimed at boycotting Israel, NGO Monitor noted World Vision’s assistance in the marginalization of Israel:

“Indeed, World Vision International, the umbrella group for all World Visions programs, has frequently violated Australian policy by promoting crude anti-Israel propaganda in UN frameworks. These political activities, under the guise of “humanitarian aid”, are highly destructive and inconsistent with efforts to build the mutual understanding, cooperation and coexistence that is essential for peace in the region.”

The article referenced the roots of this latest boycott attempt:

“Although it happened 10,000 miles (16,000 km) away, last week’s vote in favor of a boycott against Israeli companies by Britain’s fifth-largest food retailer, the Co-operative Group, has an underlying Australian connection. The Palestinian Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) is an active member of the Palestinian campaign to boycott Israel (BDS), and contributed to the campaign targeting the UK Co-operative group. UAWC officials also ‘called on other European supermarkets to take similar steps.’

“Who funds UAWC? The Australian government, through AusAid’s funding program with World Vision Australia.”

I doubt very seriously the Jerusalem Post leadership has made the World Vision connection, and it isn’t clear they would reject the entity’s ad money in any event.

Yet it’s another troubling sign that Western dupes are aiding and abetting the Palestinians in their campaign to destroy Israel.

And, one wonders if they are truly dupes, or if they understand exactly what they are doing.

So long as Western religious leaders continue to hug radical Muslims, and support the sinister BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) Movement, true justice is delayed.
