Pakistan's Christians fear for their lives
..."Christian children in government schools are not treated well. They call them sweepers and tell them they can't eat with them or drink with them..."Many of our people were once low caste [Hindus] so they're treated as nothing at all. There is a psychological problem with the Christians, they become so timid and scared. They're supposed to be very brave. But we are refugees in our own country ... like flies on the wall."

The White House is getting ready to launch a major fall blitz for immigration reform — this time, one that appears to be more about partisanship than partnership with Republicans. Pakistani quake area struck again
A 6.8-magnitude earthquake has struck south-west Pakistan, in a region where at least 400 people died in a quake earlier this week. There were no initial reports of casualties from the quake, centred in the remote province of Balochistan. Reports said already damaged buildings collapsed in the new tremor which sent people running into the streets.

FHA needs $1.7 billion taxpayer subsidy
The Federal Housing Administration plans to tap $1.7 billion in taxpayer money at the end of the month to cover its losses — a first for an agency that has been self-sustaining since its 1934 creation. Small quake rattles Hawaii island
A magnitude 3.6 earthquake shook Hawaii island's Puna district this morning. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake, which struck at 8:36 a.m., was centered 25 miles south of Hilo and 17 miles south-southwest of Hawaiian Paradse Park. The epicenter was about 5.7 miles deep, according to the USGS.
