THE BIBLE.....And what it says about the "Feast of Trumpets"....

FOR FAIR USE AND EDUCATION AND DISCUSSION PURPOSES

In an extensive study of the "Feasts of the Lord" in the Bible, I decided to pay particular attention to the "Feast of Trumpets". What I have HEARD (not read myself) is that this feast is called "Rosh HaShannah" by the Jews.

THAT IS NOT IN THE BIBLE.

I have heard that it is a foreshadow of the "wedding ceremony" of the Jews as per their custom....bridegroom going away to return at some surprise time with a "shout" for his "bride", who will follow with the wedding party, etc....etc.

THAT IS NOT IN THE BIBLE.

SO, WHAT IS ACTUALLY IN THE BIBLE ABOUT THIS "FEAST OF THE LORD"??

Leviticus 23:23-32 tells about the "first day of the month" in the "seventh month"....and that's the day we are searching for. Any descriptive words identifying this "Feast" other than what is actually IN THE BIBLE should be tossed out where they belong...as not applicable!

THIS IS WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT THIS "FEAST"....

23 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 24 "Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. 25 You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.' " 26 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 27 "Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. 28 And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29 For any person who is not afflicted in soul on that same day shall be cut off from his people. 30 And any person who does any work on that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people. 31 You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath."

That's it!!! No wedding ceremony! No "bridegroom"! No "rapture"! And nothing like that is even inferred anywhere in God's own words.

This is a fairly good link concerning the "rapture" and the "Feast of Trumpets" (a Jewish invention). But, we, as Christians, MUST understand that NONE OF THESE FEASTS have anything to do with the "Jews" or "Judaism". They are strictly OUR LORD'S APPOINTMENTS with His people....BELIEVERS! (How can one keep them if they are not believers in the first place? Or, if they are like the Jews, they can take them as their own and then distort them into being anything they want them to be.)

Then, again, this "Feast" is described in Numbers chapter 29 as well. See what our Lord has to say to describe this Feast on the "first day of the month" in the "seventh month". These are God's own words:

1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you. 2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the LORD; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish: 3 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram, 4 And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs: 5 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you: 6 Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the LORD. 7 And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein: 8 But ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the LORD for a sweet savour; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish: 9 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to a bullock, and two tenth deals to one ram,.....

Again, no "wedding", no celebrations of a coming "bridegroom" or ANY of the "Jewish traditions of a marriage ceremony"!!

It's no wonder that the Jews did not recognize their Messiah!!! They have distorted God's Feast Days to suit their own purposes. They remember the Feasts, but they forgot the God who instituted them.
