Syrian forces backed by Hezbollah forces on Sunday consolidated their control over a key district in flashpoint Homs as they pressed to retake the central city, a watchdog said. -The fall of Homs, dubbed by rebels "the capital of the revolution" against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, would be a major government victory as Syria's third city is a key route linking Damascus to the coast.

Reports: Israel attacked Syrian weapons convoy
