HERE IS HOW TO UNDERSTAND THE 'GREAT TRIBULATION'.......




As Jesus was being led to the cross "a great multitude of the people followed Him, and women who also mourned and lamented Him. But Jesus, turning to them said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For indeed THE DAYS ARE COMING IN WHICH THEY WILL SAY, 'BLESSED ARE THE BARREN, WOMBS THAT NEVER BORE, and BREASTS THAT NEVER NURSED.' ( Luke 23:27-29 )


Jesus is giving a prophecy to the Hebrew people about the 'coming days of the great tribulation' during which the Hebrew people will 'greatly suffer tribulation' because they have rejected Him and are about to crucify Him. He tells them to weep for their children meaning their descendants. The fulfillment of the prophecy of the 'great tribulation of Israel' is recorded in the words of Jesus in Matthew, Mark and Luke:


Matthew 24:19 and 21
"But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days ! For then there will be great tribulation........"


Mark 13:17 and 19
"But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days ! For in those days there will be tribulation......."


Luke 21:22-23
"For these are THE DAYS OF VENGEANCE, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies IN THOSE DAYS. For there will be great tribulation in the land ( the land of Israel ) and wrath upon this people ( this Hebrew people )".


So you see, the 'great tribulation' is God's "days of vengeance" of His wrath upon the land and the people of Israel BEFORE the world-wide rapture of the Church happens. The great tribulation is NOT a world-wide event as is God's "Hour of trial" upon the whole world AFTER the rapture. The rapture happens just as Jesus said it would happen in:


Matthew 24:29-31
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days ( in Israel )............He will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."


Here is the order of the end-time events according to the Scriptures:


#1 The great tribulation, which are the days of vengeance of God's wrath upon the land of Israel and the Hebrew people, will be shortened and ended by Jesus. ( Matt 24:22 )


#2 Immediately after Jesus ends the great tribulation of those days in Israel He will appear to rapture His Church to heaven. ( Matt 24:29-31 )


#3 Immediately after the rapture of His Church, who are the great multitude in heaven, Jesus will open the seventh seal and release God's wrath upon the whole world for the last-half of the 70th Week of Daniel.

MORE ABOUT THE GREAT TRIBULATION OF ISRAEL........




Revelation 6:8
"Power was given them over A FOURTH OF THE EARTH, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death........"


The preceding Scripture is referring to the second, third, and fourth seal riders of war, and famine, and death during the great tribulation of Israel. Notice that the second, third, and fourth seals affect ONLY "A FOURTH OF THE EARTH" which is the middle-east centered around Israel. The twenty-five percent of the earth involved in the great tribulation of Israel goes all the way north to the land of Gog which is Russia. The great tribulation of Israel is the Gog-Magog War described in Ezekiel 37 and 38.


The events of the second, third, and fourth seals, which together are the great tribulation of Israel, immediately precede the sixth seal events which is the rapture as described in Matthew 24:29-31; "Immediately after the tribulation of those days............."
