Addendum to the "qualification for the bride"....

FOR FAIR USE AND EDUCATION AND DISCUSSION PURPOSES

My mind works very strangely at times, and people who know me well won't argue that fact. Today was no different. I was trying to think of a good explanation for "washing by the water of the word"...Eph.5:26. Suddenly the thought of an astronaut came into my mind...and I guess the "bride" will be suddenly like an astronaut in a way, except it will be "Poof!!"....here one second and gone the next. Whoopee! I'm still praying I am found worthy (Luke 21:36). Look how great Paul was, and HE was praying he was worthy. If he wasn't, there's absolutely no hope for me at all...

Back to the "bride" and the astronaut....

If a person decides one day to become an astronaut (similar to when a person suddenly is aware that he/she is a believer). Then, the journey only BEGINS. Far too many, at this point, figure it's a "done deal"!! OH NO, IT'S NOT!!

The astronaut-to-be must then begin a heavy education...going to college and lots of books, training, and studying to equip himself for the job ahead. His preparation for this job will not be completed until he graduates and completes all the necessary training.

It's the same for the Christian. After initial "justification", the process of being "washed" just begins. It a long, hard struggle. Jesus told us "in this world ye will have tribulation"...but God chastises, bends, and molds his people more than He would unbelievers. He has to prepare them for their "work" in God's Kingdom regarding New Jerusalem..and/or whatever else they may have as glorious duties for God. Our only "textbook" is the Bible. Graduation is at the end of our lives...or at the rapture (either "bride" or before God's wrath). But God will make sure we are prepared, but we have to be willing to be up to the task as well. The more we study the Bible, the cleaner we become because we begin to understand the deeper things of God. This is "sanctification", and it's a lifetime work. We have to "graduate" and then we are "glorified" as we go from this world to the next one. I have a hard time waiting!

Would someone who hadn't studied extremely difficult things through college textbooks ever be allowed to be an active astronaut? I think not!

And in the same way, God will not have His Kingdom rulers be ignorant of the things He has left us to read and study...II Tim.2:15. We cannot rule and reign with Him unless we are "approved unto God" by studying and coming to correct doctrine. We can't depend on someone else to do it for us. There is such a thing as "flunking out"...
