What does it mean to love anything, including a Nation ?

Well, this is in regard to a thread titled "Make sure you love Israel".

"God" is love.

So let's first watch a video of the revelation to a young woman, a revelation of what God and love are, and let that message enter our hearts to better prepare us to discuss any issue:

The word "Israel" is often used to refer to a current entity called a nation, Israel.
We are told that the Kingdoms of this world become...

Revelation 11:15 (KJV)
And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

Even though this and all other nations are created entities, we can love them. We should love all nations.
When nations do evil, we should hate evil. Our love of nations who do evil is that they should cease from evil by turning from it, shining the light that dispels evil.

So I can love the nation Israel and hate the evil done by Israel. Listen, folks, all nations do evil when they disconnect from the creator of the universe.

The biblical passages to bless Israel may not be fully applicable to the nation we have today with their evil ways. If we support evil, then we take part in it. So I would be cautious in this regard and not be afraid at all to point out the evils that are being done including unbelief in the messiah who came.

But let's not ever hate the people... unless you can find a scripture which says to hate people. That will be a fruitless search.

A loving God does not support Isreal's every action.

So what I am often observing is a sin of omission. When people say "we must love Israel" the response which is often mistakenly elicited is that they must support Israel and every action of Israel. This is not the will of God. Supporting evil actions is not the will of God. We can be sure of that. So please understand that loving a nation is wishing it to be the best by doing what is right and hearing and doing what God is saying to them to do, just as we should be doing. It is the same directive to all of us. Man can not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

Something to think about !
I hope this projects something about the attitude we should have concerning this issue.
