Reventador volcano (Ecuador) enters new eruption with lava flows and explosions
The volcano has now entered a full-scale eruption. Lava flows descending on the flanks and glow at the summit were observed. A tall steam and ash plume rises 1.5 km above the volcano and drifts west. Additionally explosions have been reported which were heard in the sector of Reventador. Seismic activity is strong and characterized by strong tremor and explosion signals.

THE Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said Tuesday the seismic activity of Taal Volcano in Batangas province has increased in the past 24 hours. Phivolcs Director Renato Solidum, Jr. said the agency has recorded 10 volcanic quakes from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Tuesday.
3.9 earthquake strikes Paradox Valley, south of Grand Junction
The Earthquake Information Center in Golden originally reported the quake registered a magnitude of 4.4 on the Richter scale with an epicenter 58 miles south-southwest of Grand Junction, 35 miles southeast of Moab, Utah and 24 miles west of Nucla, Colo. The earthquake was later downgraded to magnitude 3.9.

North Korea 'plans third nuclear test'
North Korea says it is proceeding with plans for a third nuclear test. Iran, Russia sign security agreement
Iran and Russia have signed a joint security agreement today in Tehran, Mehr news agency reported. The agreement was signed by Iran's Intelligence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Kolokoltsev. Kolokoltsev arrived in Tehran on Sunday, leading the Russian delegation of official diplomats.
