I think Christianity become wax on studying the enemy in these latter days. We let Satan and his demons gain control because by Satans nature he was able to convince the world that he and his demon's did not exist...The churches became politically correct, and let him gain total control for fear of 'how they look to the world'.
They most certainly do exist. From a brief cursory search one can see that the 7 'Principalities' AKA 7 Princes of Hell most certainly were accepted literature in the early days of Christian Demonology.

One could go onto search the for the 72 'powers' that seem to be under these principalities if you wanted to. The '72' appear to be the 'Gods' that the Freemasons seek to control as evidence of the painting of the The Apotheosis of Washington by Constantino Brumidi in the US Capitol Building.
