Socialists and Communists of all stripes believe that “rights” are granted by the government, and can be taken away by the government, for the “common good”. Large areas of land in the United States have now been placed off-limits for development of any kind, or even the presence of human beings. Despite massive deposits of energy resources, we cannot access them. So we remain energy dependent on nations that hate us. Long range plans for areas like California envision a ban on motorized vehicles except for mass transit, the end of ranches, with the land being restored to its “pristine” natural state.
