"Of End-Time Prophecies and Current Events"

Could we be at the threshold of the catalyst for the Psalm 83 war?

The following article strongly implies that action will be taken against Iran before the end of 2012, and nobody realistically expects sanctions to work since they have historically made little to no impact on Iran's fanatical determination to pursue a nuclear weapon. http://www.debka.com/article/21797/

Many suspect that the reason that a conflict is unavoidable is because there is a fundamental belief, held by the rulers of Iran, that war in the region will expedite the coming of the 12th imam. The 12th imam is similar to the messiah for the Muslim faith. This is quite possibly especially significant considering the prophecies that seem to all be coming to their fulfillment in the current generation. Let's recap. Consider the following, if I have made any mistakes here please feel free to reply. For those who follow modern day prophecy, you may already know a lot of this information.

1. Yitzchak Kaduri was a very respected Jewish rabbi who passed away in 2006. He was especially interesting because he claimed to have seen the messiah himself, even going so far as saying that the messiah is already present in Israel. Christians, obviously, were taken aback suspecting a possible false christ. Further complicating the matter was a previous prophecy delivered by another rabbi which said that Kaduri would see the messiah before his death. At least in the mind of the people, Kaduri's claims would have validated that prophecy.

Kaduri delivered a prophecy where he told people that the messiah would come after Ariel Sharon (the former Prime Minister of Israel) passed away, though he did not specify a time interval of whether that would be immediate or not. Interestingly, Ariel Sharon has been in a coma since January 4, 2006, and is still currently on life support. Also interesting is that just earlier today people started talking about Sharon again, speculating that he would not want to have his life artificially preserved on life support.
During Yitzchak Kaduri's life he also wrote and sealed a note to be opened only after his death, due to its controversial nature. In it, it is said he strongly hinted that the name of the messiah was Yahushua (Jesus). You can see why that might be controversial in the Jewish community.

It seems clear that the prophecy about Sharon strongly implies a matter of time being of the essence, since he is in a coma - potentially on the brink of death at any time. Also implying a sense of urgency is the revived talks about Sharon's life support.

2. "The Jew's catechism is his calendar." -Quote by Samson Raphael Hirsch

The appointed times in Leviticus 23, which provides 70 appointed times for holy days (HaMoyadim) in a year:

52 sabbaths
7 days of Pesach (passover, which includes in it the feast of unleavened bread & feast of the first fruits)
1 day for Hag Ha Shavuot (pentecost)
1 day for Yom Teruah (feast of trumpets, concurrent with Rosh Hashanah)
1 day for Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)
7 days for Sukkot (feast of booths/tabernacle)
+ 1 day for Shmini Atzeret (eight day of assembly)

= 70 days

It is also thought that a generation is 70 years (though technically it could be longer), so in this sense the number 70 refers often to time. Soon in the near future 70-years will have elapsed since Israel's re-founding in 1948... which would bring us to 2018. Depending on how long a generation is, it is especially relevant in modern times because of Matthew 24:32-34, which was part of Jesus' response to the disciples' question about how they could recognize the sign of His coming (read the whole chapter to get all of it).

Matthew 24:32-34 “Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

Symbolically speaking, the fig tree was used all over the place by Jesus as a symbol which we understand today to be the nation of Israel (read commentaries on the many parables which involve a fig tree to see how strong this symbolism really is).

Any time God brings Israel into the picture, traditionally and prophetically speaking, it is a tremendous indicator to pay attention. Israel has always been God's chosen people to reveal His divine plan for mankind, which is ultimately mankind's salvation through God's beloved son, the messiah (Yahushua, whom we know as Jesus in English).

3. Another potentially important sign is the upcoming years in 2014-2015, which contains a tetrad of eclipses that occur on important Jewish holy days. There are four lunar eclipses (blood moons):

a. April 15, 2014, on Passover (Saros Cycle 122)
b. October 8, 2014 on Sukkoth (Saros Cycle 127)
c. April 4, 2015 on Passover (Saros Cycle 132)
d. September 28, 2015 on Sukkoth (Saros Cycle 137)

Historically, a tetrad occurring on Jewish holy days has been a strong indicator which has coincided with a significant event. Keep in mind that Genesis 1:14 states "And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years...". Here is a list of major past events that have occurred during the tetrads when they fell on Jewish holy days:

a. Tetrad of 1493-1494: The Jews were scattered
b. Tetrad of 1949-1950: Marks the beginning of the re-gathering of Israel
c. Tetrad of 1967-1968: Marks the 6 Day War, Israel re-gaining control of Yerushalem (Jerusalem)
d. Tetrad of 2014-2015: ?

4. The Prophecy of Popes, attributed to Saint Malachy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prophecy_of_the_Popes
It is generally accepted that Pope Benedict, the current pope, is the 267th pope in the prophecy. He would therefore be the very last pope before the end-time pope who leads the Catholic Church through the tribulation. It may be important to note that there is debate about whether the last entry regarding the final pope, referred to as Petrus Romanus (Peter the Roman), was added later or not, suggesting that final line may have been a forgery.

I typically find prophecies written in this cryptic manner, which is similar to writings of Nostradamus, too vague to draw any reasonable conclusions from - but because of the specific ordering here that is not the case. At the very least, it cannot be denied that it is yet another prophecy that is fast approaching its conclusion. If there are two, or more, popes after Benedict - then Malachy's prophecy must have been false - so it is one of the few things that could be debunked outright with time. It seems remarkable that so many such prophecies seem to converge on the same general time period.

Pope Benedict, the current pope, was born in 1927, so is currently 84 years old... going to be 85 in April 2012. He has recently appointed 22 new cardinals in February 2012, and there has reportedly been some contention about scandals and political posturing for who will be the next pope. 5. There is another prophecy about the Presidents which has been discussed recently. Although I don't personally give it too much merit, it is yet another that is coming to completion and therefore worth mentioning. For those who don't know, Obama is sometimes seen as America's last president. Several years ago, at least three individuals indicated they had dreams which they felt was about the final presidents. In the link above, the author assumed Gore would be House 11 - coming after Clinton - but he wasn't, so that was Bush Jr instead. That would mean that House 12, the final house, is the current president. For a dream, I find it suspiciously vivid, but some people assert that prophetic dreams are usually especially vivid. Regardless, another allegedly prophetic indicator of an end coming.

Some people say that there were 44 kings of Israel and Judah and we are on our 44th president, but that doesn't seem correct to me, so that needs to be debunked. Even if you do what they did and count David twice, you don't arrive at 44. This clearly shows there were 41 kings and one queen in total (remember to include Saul, David and Solomon so you get 3 + 19 + 20 = 42 (one of them being a queen)): http://jesusalive.cc/ques128.htm

6. And let's not forget the prophecy of the 12th Imam that was referenced earlier. Those who believe in the twelfth Imam (including Ahmadinejad), typically believe that he will come soon, even in their own lifetime. http://mrmaranatha.hubpages.com/hub/Iran-2012

In spite of all of this, given the very complicated political dynamic of the middle east, so far nothing looks ready for the anticipated rebuilding of the temple - even though there is the Temple Institute which is preparing for that. Many still feel that the temple has to be rebuilt before the prophecies can be fulfilled, regardless of whether a rapture happens before that or not. Admittedly, there has been a lot happening in the middle east over the last several years, but there is a long history of similar events. It does seem, though, that with every year that passes that is one year closer to Jesus' return. One thing is sure, that we should watch and be ready, for we do not know the day or the hour.

"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch."
