The 2016 Files--Intro and Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel Prophecy





In my prophetic studies I have discovered that there is a lot of evidence pointing to the possibility of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ occurring in 2016. Let me make this clear; I am not predicting a date for the return of the Lord. I do not think that we will know for sure when the Second Coming will be until we see the antichrist arise and the Abomination of Desolation, but I would like to share with you the information that I have found that points to the possibility of a 2016 return--you can decide for yourself and come to your own conclusions. I plan to present this information in a series of posts over the next several weeks all titled with "The 2016 Files..."

Let me clarify what I mean by the term "Second Coming", for the term can have different meanings to different people. In these series of posts the term Second Coming refers to the time when Jesus returns to the earth, not the clouds at the rapture, and defeats the armies of the antichrist at Armageddon and then sets up the Millennial kingdom.

Also before we get to the data let me first address the issue of whether knowing the date of the second coming is "Biblically" permitted. I believe that it is because in scripture we are only told that we do not know the day and hour of the rapture, not the Second Coming. We are also given an exact time marker for when the Second Coming will occur. We know that the Second Coming will occur at day 2520 of the 70th week. So once the beginning of the 70th week is determined it will be easy to figure when the Second Coming will occur--just add 2520 days to the start date. You can also pinpoint the Second Coming date with other date parameters given in scripture such as the ministry of the 2 witnesses, the arising of the antichrist, date of the Fall feasts, etc.

So lets get onto the data which I believe is pointing to the distinct possibility that the Second Coming may occur in 2016. BTW if the Second Coming of the Lord is in 2016 then it infers that the 70th week would have begun in 2009, the Abomination of Desolation will be in 2013, and the rapture will be 2013-2015. So we will approach this from many different angles showing information that supports several of these premises. Some of this information is in The Coming Epiphany, some information will be new.

Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel Prophecy

The following is the write up of a prophecy made by Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel that I believe is significant in regards to answering the question when? The original article appeared in Israel Today, March 2008.

In 1217 the Jewish Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel prophesied that the Ottoman Turks would rule over the holy city of Jerusalem for eight Jubilees. A Jubilee is a period of 50 years according to Leviticus 25:8-13. Eight Jubilees would then be 400 years. Sure enough, 300 years later in 1517 the Ottoman Turks seized control of the city of Jerusalem and ruled over it for the next 400 years. They were finally driven out of the city and the holy land in 1917 by the Allied forces under the command of General George Allenby. The Rabbi's prophecy about the 400 years was fulfilled exactly to the year.



The Rabbi had also prophesied that during the ninth Jubilee Jerusalem would be a "no-man's land." This is exactly what happened from 1917 to 1967, due to the fact that the holy land was placed under British Mandate in 1917 by the League of Nations and literally "belonged" to no nation. Even after Israel's war of independence in 1948-49 Jerusalem was still divided by a strip of land running right through the heart of the city, with Jordan controlling the eastern part of the city and Israel controlling the western part of the city. That strip of land was considered and even called "no-man's land" by both the Israelis and the Jordanians. Anyone even stepping into that strip would be shot down. I lived during that period of time and well remember the reports in the newspapers and shown on TV about the division of Jerusalem. It was not until the Six Day War in 1967 when the entire west bank of the holy land was conquered by the Israeli army that the whole city of Jerusalem passed back into the possession of Israel. So once again the prophecy made by the Rabbi 750 years previously was fulfilled to the letter.



But that is still not the end of the matter. The Rabbi also prophesied that during the 10th Jubilee Jerusalem would be under the control of the Jews and the Messianic "end times" would begin. The 10th Jubilee began in 1967 and will be concluded in 2017.

The six day war in 1967 took place from June 5 - 11. Thus 1 Jubilee or 50 years from that date would place us at June 2017. So the 10th Jubilee would be from June 1967 to June 2017. So if the prophecy is to be trusted, and if the "Messianic end times" in the prophecy is in reference to the time when the Messiah would rule and reign on earth--the Millennium--and if the return of Christ and the beginning of the Millennium will align with a fall feast, which I believe it will, then for the Millennium to start during the 10th jubilee it would have to begin at the latest in 2016. That would also infer the beginning of the 70th week to be in 2009 and the rapture 2013-15.
