NOT TO BE CONFUSED

Unfortunately, most people confuse "religion" with "faith". Christians are just as confused by these two terms as everyone else.

Religion and faith are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

The word "religion" comes from the Latin religare which means TO BIND AGAIN.

When we're BOUND, we're in BONDAGE (slavery).

And that's EXACTLY what religion does: it engenders SLAVES.

SLAVES, who CAN'T think for themselves, seek God by themselves, worship Him by themselves, or study His Word for themselves.

SLAVES who need SOME SLAVE MASTER -- who is in bondage himself/herself -- to tell them WHEN and HOW to worship, which portions of the Bible to heed and which to shun, how to dress, speak, think, act, pray, and what they CAN'T eat.

SLAVE MASTERS who EXACT A SLAVE TAX FROM THEM, which they conveniently, AND ERRONEOUSLY, call "tithe".

All religion's EVER produced is SLAVES.

SLAVES, ruled by religious tyrants, who INVENTED religion with their carnal, CORRUPT minds.

SLAVES always live IN FEAR of NOT PLEASING their masters.

SLAVES always live IN FEAR of "being punished" if they don't PERFORM as the SLAVE MASTERS require.

That's WHY God HATES religion.

Repeat: God HATES religion.

If He just wanted a bunch of SLAVES, He would have NEVER given mankind FREE WILL (Genesis 1:26; 2:19, 20; Genesis 4:17; John 10:18; Revelation 22:17).

Faith, on the other hand, SETS PEOPLE FREE (2 Corinthians 3:17).

Faith COMES FROM God, not from man's corrupt mind.

Faith is A FRUIT OF the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).

The word for "faith" pistis means TO TRUST.

Faith TRUSTS in God's UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for His Creation.

Faith TRUSTS that God wants to SAVE US, not condemn us (John 3:17).

Faith TRUSTS that God looks at the intent and attitude of our hearts (INSIDE), and NOT at how we PERFORM on the OUTSIDE (1 Samuel 16:7).

Faith TRUSTS God's own Spirit to lead us to all the Truth, show us things to come, and to guide our worship, lifestyle, words, thoughts and actions (John 16:12).

Faith doesn't produce slaves, but SONS (Galatians 3:26).

Faith KNOWS that there's NO SUCH THING as "a wrong day" to worship God, since He must be worshipped EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF EVERY SINGLE DAY (Romans 14:5).

Faith KNOWS you don't need to congregate in a man-made building to "find God".

Faith KNOWS and TRUSTS that God's infinite Grace and Goodness provide for our needs and that His favor CAN'T BE BOUGHT (Matthew 7:11; Romans 8:32).

Faith KNOWS that THE ENTIRE BIBLE -- not just the portions we "like" or fit our pet doctrines -- is to be heeded, since IT IS WRITTEN that "man does not live by bread alone but BY EVERY WORD that proceeds out of God's mouth" (Matthew 4:4).

Faith KNOWS there is NO CONDEMNATION to those who are IN Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1).

Faith KNOWS that Jesus (God) is ON OUR SIDE.

Faith KNOWS He's FOR US, and NOT against us.

Faith (COMPLETE TRUST IN JESUS) leads us into Perfect Love, which CASTS OUT fear (1 John 4:18).

Religion's NEVER SAVED A SINGLE SOUL.

Faith -- COMPLETE TRUST in Jesus' PERFECT, FINISHED work of Redemption... in His Blood, death, burial and Resurrection -- IS THE ONLY THING that SAVES US (Ephesians 2:8,9).
