I wrote about this also last week after finding through reading Leviticus 23 that there were 2 lots of 50 days, did some Bible searching and found Moses coming down the mountain at this time of the last 50 day period.

I then remembered browsing something on 5 doves and found your posts about this all. I totally agree with you, and wouldnt it be appropriate for Jesus to finish the church age the day that he started it?

"The Lord's Feast Dates - The next Feast to be fulfilled"

I’ve been following the discussion about the relevance of the Feasts of the Lord and I agree that they are important to Christians.



The Apostle Paul shows these feasts of the Lord were “shadows” of things to come—not of things that have already happened. He warned the brethren not to be intimidated by some who were questioning their manner of keeping God’s feasts, as well as the Sabbaths, new moons, and eating and drinking. He said, “So let no one judge [criticize or condemn] you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come . . . Let no one cheat you of your reward ...” (Colossians 2:16-18).



I was always taught that no one should criticize others for not keeping the Sabbath and the Feasts because they are “only” shadows of things to come. One day I made the following parallel: if someone said: “don’t judge people in regard to tattoos”, how would we interpret that phrase? I think our interpretation would be not to judge people who have tattoos, not those who don’t. (Note: this is just an illustration). So if Paul says that we shouldn’t judge people in regard to Sabbaths or new moons, this seems to be telling us not to judge people who KEEP the Sabbaths and the Feasts, not those people who DON’T. So keeping the Feasts as a memorial (past and future) is something that has to be respected. Moreover, shadows of things to come are not something despicable, but very special hints of highly significant dates.



If when I was a child someone told me that I was going to get married on date ‘X’ in July, even not yet knowing the identity of my future husband, I would certainly have a special affection (and expectancy) for that day, years before the fulfillment of the date. Likewise, the Feasts that don’t have their prophetic fulfillment yet are a shadow of very important days in God’s plan of redemption.



But the main point of my letter today is to say that I believe that the next Feast to be prophetically fulfilled is not Yom Teruah (the Feast of Trumpets). In most posts (and even websites and videos) that mention the Feasts of the Lord, it is said that all the four spring feasts have already been fulfilled and therefore the next one to be fulfilled is the Feast of Trumpets. I disagree with that assumption!



Firstly, contrary to the traditional Pentecost date, the Feast of Pentecost is not a spring feast. Pentecost is a summer feast, the end of the barley AND wheat harvest. The end of the wheat barley only happens by the end of the fourth month. (By the way, read John 4:35, in which Jesus says: “Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.”). Wheat planted in the beginning of spring takes about 120 days to mature. From the Feast of Firstfruits, seven Sabbaths are to be counted and then 50 days added to that count. I’ve explained all this in previous posts, citing the Creation Calendar website and other sources. The correct date for Pentecost is the end of the 4th Hebrew month, around the 29th day of Tammuz, which in 2011 corresponds to July 31st. I really don’t want to discuss that anymore. I just say that Pentecost is the LAST FESTIVAL of the GRAIN HARVEST just as the Feast of Tabernacles is the end of the FRUIT HARVEST. Pentecost is the day that DIVIDES the GRAIN HARVEST from the FRUIT HARVEST.



[Please read the rest of this letter even if you don’t agree with the idea above (in regards to the correct the date of Pentecost) which is fine.]


Secondly, the purpose of the Feast of Pentecost hasn’t been completely accomplished yet. We must pay attention to the Feasts’s symbols.



Feast of Passover (the 14th of Nisan, preparation day)



On Passover, a perfect Lamb had to be killed. Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God, the center of this feast. Has the symbol been perfectly depicted? Yes, no doubt!



Feast of Unleavened Bread (the 15th of Nisan, a Sabbath, always a full moon)



In the New Testament, the apostle Paul explains the spiritual symbolism of unleavened bread. Rebuking the Church members in Corinth for their acceptance of sin, he tells them: “Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:6-7). It is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ that removes our sins, and so we become “unleavened” in a spiritual sense. So, again, Jesus Christ is the focus of this feast of the Lord. The shadow of this feast points to what Jesus would do for all of us in cleansing us of sin and helping us to live sin-free lives.



Has the symbol been perfectly depicted? Yes, no doubt!



Feast of Firstfruits:



On the 16th day of the month of Nisan, the firstfruits of the barley harvest was gathered and waved before the Lord in celebration. The sheaf of the first grains to mature was lifted up by the High Priest, presenting those ripe first grains so that the rest of the future harvest was blessed.



On the 16th day of Nisan (probably in 32 A.D.) Jesus rises from the grave. He is the firstfruits from the dead. On that very day He fulfilled the feast when He presented Himself in Heaven. The Firstfruits (Christ) had been lifted up to the Father, when He first ascended to Heaven before returning and showing Himself to his disciples.



Has the symbol been perfectly depicted? Yes, no doubt!



Pentecost:



On the 50th day AFTER the 7th Sabbath complete AFTER the Feast of Firstfruits, TWO LOAVES OF LEAVENED BREAD HAD TO BE WAVED AND LIFTED UP TO THE HIGH PRIEST. Please Leviticus 23.



In the previous (partial) fulfillments of the Feast of Pentecost, very important things happened and were already worthy to be Feast Days by themselves. The pouring of the Holy Spirit was something extraordinary, something of HUGE importance!!!! But in my opinion they can’t be the final fulfillment of the Feast of Pentecost. If the sheaf of grain being waved and lifted up to the Father on the Feast of Firstfruits was the type and Jesus presenting Himself to the Father on that very day of the Feast was the antitype (notice symbols perfectly matching each other), the pouring of the Holy Spirit (which came DOWN from Heaven) doesn’t match the type of the two loaves of bread being lifted UP to the Father.



So I strongly believe that the next Feast to have its final fulfillment is going to be Pentecost, not the Feast of Trumpets! On the day that Feast (Pentecost) is fulfilled, a pair of something is going to be presented in Heaven, just like Jesus was presented in Heaven, as the perfect antitype for the type depicted in the book of Leviticus. That seems to be the Rapture!



In the book of Ruth, Ruth (a gentile woman, a type of the Bride of Christ), she was taken as a bride by a Kinsman Redeemer (Boaz, a type of Christ) at the end of the barley AND wheat harvest. (This only happens in summer.)



The end of July is approaching! Would the Feast of Pentecost have its final accomplishment in 2011? We don’t know! But THAT is the Feast we should be watching as the next one, as we expect our Bridegroom!



We shouldn’t think that the Feast of Pentecost has already been fulfilled and now expect that the next Feast to be fulfilled is the Feast of Trumpets! Unless, of course, the fulfillments of the Feasts don’t take place in order, which I don’t think is probable. In my opinion, they will happen in order, just like the three first Feasts already fully accomplished.
