We have a Christ centered scouting program & we have our girls involved in helping our military men & women who have been deployed. We are very happy to say that we will proudly be involved in Operation Baby Blanket & will be making things for babies. We are very proud of our military & their families.

Looking for a military pattern for helmet caps but also knit baby things.

I love knitting. I have been told by some local people that they are in need of helmet caps to wear under helmets. They told me it had to be 100% wool. They have yet to provide me with a pattern, which they said they had, or any more information. So... thought I would look around myself and this site caught my eye because I love knitting for babies. I was a medical transcriptionist and I typed for Camp Pendelton, Walter Reed, Tripler, and Korea. I typed some social reports that made me cry to think our military families did not have what they needed for their babies or the moms. So this site caught my eye immediately.

Both of my Grandsons (brothers) are U.S. Marines...no wives or babies yet, but I just wanted to say what a wonderful and caring thing you are doing! It is comforting, I'm sure, to the families who must go through an event like a child's birth alone to know there are people out there that support their loved ones and what they are doing for us all. Thank you for being such kind and giving people! May God bless all of you!

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who make the blankets, hats, etc. I received mine in the mail today and have to say am still crying. My husband is in Afghanistan right now and he has been gone thru my whole pregnancy. It made him a part of our new little girls' life by you all helping him to give her a gift. It made me feel like he was part of this whole pregnancy. You do not know how much your efforts make such a difference in our lives. You make us feel like our sacrifice is so very worth it. I question it sometimes but when I received your gift I was so proud of my husband and well as myself and the 4 kids that he loves and misses so much. Thank you to you all!!!!!!!!!!

I just wanted to say thank you! I just had a little boy the 20th of October. My husband got back from Iraq from his last 15 month deployment in January 2008 and deployed again in August this is the second baby we've had while he was deployed that he has had to miss. We have three children now and missing special events like births and birthdays is hard on us all but it is a comfort to know there are organizations like this one that cares enough to send us wives back here picking up the slack and having to go through labor on our own something special like the blanket we recieved. So again thank you!

Think this was a great idea, would like to help since my youngest son is over in Iraq and I have 15 grand-sons and 3 grand-daughters, I belong to a Quilt Guild in my hometown and think this would be a great way to help out our soldier families while they are away or not just helping to protect us, Please let me know if we can help. Thanks so much for what you are doing.

I just wanted to say thanks to the ladies who participate in this great service. I received a beautiful blue and white crocheted blanket for my son at the military hospital in Ft Campbell, KY. It is one of my favorites. I save one blanket from each of my babies' babyhood and I will save this one. It means a lot because I know it was made with love and with appreciation for the military families whose Daddies are willing to fight for our freedom and keep us safe. Thank you! May you be blessed for your kindness!

searched for it on-line to find a site to send some of my crocheting students' baby blankets. One asked me for a site because she had made some. It was her idea.

I teach knitting & crocheting in a workshop in a literacy welfare-to-work program. One of my students asked me if I knew of site to send blankets to an expectant wife of a deployed soldier. She said she knew that these wives live on the US Bases. She'd rather send the blankets there than to the NY Foundling Hospital, which already gets many blankets. So I looked on-line for her. The Internet is a really great tool for connecting. I have some extra baby yarn and will bring it to my workshop, so one of my students can crochet. We shall make a package soon.

Glad I found you. Nothing is more appreciated than kindness to one's child, and I cannot think of a better way of honoring our soldier's than by honoring their families.
