Now many of those who acknowledge that Paul is the author of this epistle claim that it was written while he was under arrest in Rome, however that is not true.

Paul lets it be known that those Gentiles/Nations that accepted Yahshua as Christ were not obligated to come under the law as were the Hebrews that already followed Yahushua. In other words, they were not expected to keep the Laws of Moses.

Paul encountered Peter in Antioch and contended with him, Barnabas and the other apostles over this very matter, and then wrote about the encounter a short time later in Galatians chapter 2. In that chapter Paul contrasted justification in Christ to the justification which is by the works of the law, and that issue is of primary import throughout this epistle to the Hebrews.

We have read of Paul, who was not one of the original 12 apostles but became a believer much later after his own persecution of the followers of Yahusha.

The epistle to the Hebrews, which is speaking to the Hebrews, sets out to explain Paul’s position in answer to those very issues which are raised by James in the records of the Book of Acts. While asserting and demonstrating through the Scriptures that Yahshua is the Christ, the author of the epistle has the expectation that his readers have already accepted the fact that Yahshua is the Christ, so the intended audience is a Christian audience.

Paul, who was a Rabbi within Judaism, who as we have said was an avid hater of these many Believers that left the religion of Judaism thus he , persecuted the early Christians. Now, all of a sudden, he takes a opposing position. He knew the rituals of Moses very well. They all pointed to the coming of Yahusha.

Now, that Yahusha had come and was accepted as the Christ/Messiah, works were no longer the requirement for Redemption. Christ Himself said that the two greatest commandments were to "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind'; and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Luke 10:27

Think about this when you attend a church that says you must do this ritual or that ritual or follow the sacraments set up for the laity that you are going against the teachings of the freedom that is given as a Believer. We are no longer bound by Temple Worship but only to follow the Ten Commandments as best as possible as testimony of our acceptance of Yahusha as the Christ. He did it all for us.

It seems that Paul is being attacked as the messenger of these Epistles in order to justify the return to Mosaic Laws. Paul says NO to returning to all of the many laws but emphasis the keeping of the Ten Commandments written by the Hand of I Am That I Am.

It is so ironic that those that push the following of rituals, have forsaken the Sabbath, which follows on the 7th day after the first sighting of the new moon. "Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy". It isn't even every Saturday but depends on when The Almighty sends the New Moon. This is the 4th Commandment. Watching the new moon was the Calendar for the Hebrews and it continues to this day to determine the Sabbath Day of Rest.

That is the message of this chapter.
