What a marvelous account of how Joseph who had been sold by these same Hebrew men are now sitting at the table of their brother and did not know it.

Joseph had figured out who they were the first time they showed up in Egypt to guy grain, sent them home telling them not to come back again unless they brought their youngest brother, who would be the child of Joseph's own mother. The other brothers were sons of Israel other wife and hand maidens.

Still not knowing who Joseph was, they, upon returning home, told their father they couldn't go back to buy more grain unless Benjamin accompanied them. Of course, Israel was very hesitant to let Benjamin go because he was his favorite son after losing Joseph so many years before when he was told that Joseph was killed.

Now, we are at the point of the story where all the brothers are sitting at the table with Egypt's second in command and they don't know that this is the same brother they sold into slavery that eventually rose to such power in Egypt.

Joseph is so over-come by this all that he goes into another room and weeps.

Soon, the story gets to the part where Joseph shows them the proof that he is their own kinsman.

Aren't these Biblical stories of our heritage so good. Nothing that happens now didn't take place back then. Family members can be your own worse enemy, it seems but the hope is always in knowing the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Israel) for your own.

As always, thank you Steven for posting these scriptures. It is my prayer that more people would see the value in knowing these true stories.
