Turkey HDP: Blast after pro-Kurdish leaders Demirtas and Yuksekdag detained
The joint leaders of Turkey's pro-Kurdish opposition party, People's Democracy (HDP), have been arrested along with at least nine other MPs. Selahattin Demirtas and Figen Yuksekdag are accused of spreading propaganda for militants fighting the Turkish state. Hours after Mr Demirtas was arrested in Diyarbakir, a car bomb killed eight people and injured more than 100.

Jakarta protest against governor 'blasphemy' draws thousands
Tens of thousands of hard-line Muslims are marching against the governor of Jakarta, demanding he is prosecuted for blasphemy. Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, a Christian, is the first ethnic Chinese to hold the governor's post in the capital of majority Muslim Indonesia. A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck off Davao Occidental before midnight on Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. The quake's epicenter was located 63 kilometers southeast of Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental. The quake struck at 11:21 p.m.
