We hear that since Christ/Yahusha, Grace covers all things and none of the Old Testament applies.

However, reading this list of clean and unclean animals, fish, birds, creepy things which can be eaten and not eaten, common sense and any knowledge of these living creatures ought to be considered seriously.

Take for instance a pig. It passes the test as far as having a split hoof but it does not chew a cud like does a cow. Anything it eats and it is a scavenger, becomes a part of the meat, when butchered, feeds a humans body.

In part of West Africa pigs are used as a human waste disposal system - ie: pigs eat human excrement. If I knew that the pork in front of me had eaten mine and my neighbors poo I would also have reservation about eating it.

Pork takes over 3 weeks to go through your digestive system and thus it goes off inside you body before you excrete it.

Pig's bodies contain many toxins, worms and latent diseases. Although some of these infestations are harbored in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far more predisposed to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because pigs like to scavenge and will eat any kind of food, including dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta (including their own), garbage, and other pigs.

"Tapeworm eggs are passed in the bowel movement of a person who is infected. These tapeworm eggs are spread through food, water, or surfaces contaminated with feces. This can happen by drinking contaminated water or food, or by putting contaminated fingers to your mouth. A person who has a tapeworm infection can re-infect themselves (autoinfection). Once inside the stomach, the tapeworm egg hatches, penetrates the intestine, travels through the bloodstream and may develop into cysticerci in the muscles, brain, or eyes."

Pork is host to many parasites which can cause illness to humans if not cooked properly.

If their meat was dangerous to health at the beginning and they have not changed, then the warning of what is bad for one's health should still apply.

Just using common sense. The sheet Paul saw full of all kinds of animals coming down from heaven was to show him that the gospel was for all people, not just the Jews. Acts 10:11-18
