Magnitude 5.0 quake jolts Nueva Vizcaya, aftershocks likely
A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck the province of Nueva Vizcaya on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. In a bulletin, the agency said the tremor occurred at 3:54 a.m. with its epicenter 12 kilometers southeast of Ambaguio in Nueva Vizcaya.

Multiple Earthquakes Recorded In Oklahoma
A 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded near Medford, Oklahoma, Thursday morning. It was the latest of three overnight earthquakes. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, this earthquake was recorded at 6:15 a.m. Its epicenter was located 16 miles south-southeast of Medford, and 19 miles northeast of Enid. It was about four miles deep.

Russians Violating New START Arms Treaty
U.S. nuclear arms inspectors recently discovered that Russia is violating the New START arms treaty by improperly eliminating SS-25 mobile missiles, American defense officials said. The violations were discovered during an on-site inspection carried out in Russia in April, said officials familiar with details of the inspection.

A Hindu monastery worker has been hacked to death in Bangladesh, police said, the latest in a string of attacks on secular and minority targets. Nityaranjan Pande, who was in his 60s, died on the spot after several people attacked him early on Friday, AFP news agency said citing police. His murder comes after the body of a Hindu priest was found with his head nearly severed in a field on Tuesday.

Significant gains have been made by Libyan government air, sea and land forces fighting to recapture the central city of Sirte from so-called Islamic State, officials say. Forces allied to the Tripoli government assert they now have the upper hand.
