Colossians 2:16-17
So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

I imagine you have read the above scripture or even heard people say, "See we don't have to follow any special dietary laws and keep a calendar that begins with the new moon. We are free, we are saved by Grace, we are free to do anything we want as long as we believe in Jesus Christ?"

All of my Christian walk, while attending church, never once did anyone explain the above scripture as it should have been done. Do you know why?

1. These people to whom Paul was speaking were a Gentile Church whose belief system, in the past, was based on a Greek Je Zeus rather than upon the Hebrew Yahushua who did not come to abolish the Law but came to fulfill it. It all pointed to Him. He was the Temple of the Wilderness. He was the Temple in Jerusalem until His Spirit left it because Paganism had come into the hearts of the people once again. Over and over the people of the world loved the free love of paganism. But Paul is telling these Gentile Believers to not let the other pagans judge you for keeping Yahuah's Commandments and to remember the Festivals of Yahuah.

Colossians 2:13-15
"And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

2. This so called Gentile Church, did not even understand God's own Calendar which was a Lunar Calendar, whose new moon was the starting point of each month and it guided their growing season. This Gentile Roman Universal church and her daughters honor the Sun as it's center, even teaching that the Earth revolves around this Sun.

3. They did not grasp that the festivals spoken of, in that scripture, were speaking about Yahuah's Own Feasts and certainly were not Jewish Feasts....all 7 of them. Seven is God's number. The Sabbath is a Seven Number.

4. They had already been brainwashed into accepting the fact that it was only the Jews that were to observe Sabbath. Now, they were free from Sabbath and chained to observing the Sun god on Sun Day.

5. These Gentile Pagan clergy pounded into the heads of their people that they were now free to eat anything they liked. OK, go ahead and eat all of the unclean meats and fish and see how healthy you remain. God so loved the world that He set up a guidance to their diet so that they would live without the disease that these unclean animals bring upon man. But what do the prosperity preachers teach? God wants you to be prosperous in riches of this world. And the Ignorant Ones believe that is what God wants for them.

6. The enemy of God has replaced The Father's Feasts with their own, made them appealing, fun and generated for the "Merchants" lots of money spent at each of their Pagan Feasts. It's all about $$$$$$$ and Sin.

Only when I was free from the churches and read my own Bible, did my own thinking, as guided by the Holy Spirit, realize, "Hey this is just the opposite of what we have been taught". Paul is speaking to the new converts telling them that they shouldn't be offended by those pagans that criticized the keeping of God's Feasts and Commandments.

Do you see how slick this brainwashing has always been done? First they find fault and then they introduce their God Forsaken Pagan Feasts that the Father detested. Don't be fooled, they also made their pagan feasts very attractive but underneath they are filled with the blood of the innocent. While you eat your Christmas & Easter meals, they are feeding off the sacrificed victims all over the world. That is the truth of what really goes on.

Are you cheating your very own soul and those of your own children when you observe the traditions of men?

Colossians 2:8
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ."

Last but certainly not least: when we have repented and become followers of Yahusha, we become "Spiritual Israel". We are all grafted into Him and leave behind the ways of the pagans.
