Bizarre birth defect is on the rise, and researchers are baffled
Physicians are seeing more instances of a birth defect in which infants are born with their intestines extruding from the stomach wall, with a particularly sharp rise among babies born to young African American mothers, according to the CDC. Egypt: Cairo bomb blast kills nine during police raid
At least nine people, including six policemen, have been killed in a bomb explosion during a raid on a militant hideout in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. More than 13 others were injured, including the local police chief. Security sources say the blast went off as officers raided an apartment in Giza, near the Pyramids.
