GLANCING-BLOW CME EXPECTED LATER TODAY
A CME hurled into space by sunspot AR2449 on Nov. 9th is expected to deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field later today. NOAA forecasters estimate a 60% chance of geomagnetic storms when the CME arrives on Nov. 11-12

'Like a war': Calais residents terrified over 3rd night of clashes between police & migrants
French police have used teargas and water cannon on migrants during clashes in the infamous Jungle refugee camp in French port of Calais on Tuesday night. Tensions on previous nights led to dozens of injured officers. "Two hundred and fifty police officers, of which the majority were CRS [riot police], were mobilized Tuesday" to end the disturbances around the migrant camp, said Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet, as cited by AFP.

California Campus Stabber Carried Copy of ISIS Flag
The stabber’s name was Faisel Mohammad. He was shot at the scene by campus police and died of his wounds. Investigators found a “printout of an image of an Islamic State flag among Mohammad’s belongings.” And in the manifesto Mohammad left behind, he wrote that he planned to behead one of his intended victims. Mohammad also allegedly interspersed his note outlining his murder plans with “praise Allah.”

Syrian soldiers fought their way into an air base in northern Syria on Tuesday and freed military personnel inside, state television said, after a nearly two-year siege by Islamic State insurgents at the facility.

Chile Earthquake
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.9 Tuesday night. It says the epicenter was about 54 miles northwest of the coastal city of Coquimbo at a depth of 6 miles.

But he indicated a unilateral approach might be possible under the right conditions.

Russia and Iran-backed offensive helps regime break Isil's two-year siege on Syrian airbase
Syria’s army has broken Isil's two-year siege on an airbase in eastern Aleppo, marking the first major success for a military campaign backed by Russia and Iran. State television said on Tuesday that regime troops had reached the Kweiris airbase and were in the process of securing it. Almost a thousand soldiers had been trapped on the base, surviving through air drops of food and munitions.

A Russian document circulating at the United Nations has proposed a constitutional reform process in Syria, lasting 18 months, to be followed by presidential elections. The document does not say whether Syrian President Bashar al-Assad should remain in power during that time. It says certain Syrian opposition groups should take part in key talks on the crisis in Vienna on Saturday.

US reward for Somalia's al-Shabab leaders
The US government is offering $27m (£18m) in rewards for information on the whereabouts of six leaders of the Somalia-based al-Shabab group. The highest reward is $6m for the group's leader Abu Ubaidah. He replaced Ahmed Abdi Godane, who was killed in a US drone strike last year.

EU Commission approves Israeli 'settlement' product guidelines
The European Union's executive approved on Wednesday new guidelines for labeling products from Israeli settlements on occupied land, a decision Brussels says is technical but which many in Israel say is unacceptable discrimination. The European Commission "adopted this morning the Interpretative Notice on indication of origin of goods from the territories occupied by Israel since June 1967," said an EU official.

An international team of architects and scientists have observed "thermal anomalies" in the pyramids of Giza, Egyptian antiquities officials say. Jordan policeman shoots dead foreign trainers
A policeman has opened fire at a police training centre in Jordan, killing two Americans, a South African and two Jordanians, officials say. Senegal's President Sall condemns 'excessive form of Islam'
Senegal's President Macky Sall has called for a fight against the "excessive form" of Islam which has led to the growth of jihadi groups. Muslim clerics needed to be trained to promote "tolerant Islam", he added. Mr Sall, a Muslim, also called for greater intelligence-sharing between governments.
