Typhoon Goni, located about 600 miles east-southeast of Taipei, Taiwan, had maximum estimated sustained winds of 115 mph as of 5 a.m. EDT Wednesday, making it equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane on the Saffir Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Tropical Storm Danny is slowly strengthening about 1,445 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Maximum sustained winds remain at 50 mph and the central pressure is at 1000 mb. Danny will remain in an environment conducive for further development over the next several days and will likely become a hurricane by Thursday.
