A foreboding report prepared by Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force Lieutenant-General Viktor Bondarev circulating in the Kremlin today warns that this mornings deadly 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Mexico, coupled with Saturdays 4.6 magnitude earthquake in Southern California, have been “definitively linked” to the growing Alaskan magnetic anomaly and presage what could be a “cataclysmic” San Andreas Fault earthquake occurring within a few weeks.

Important to note, and as we had reported on in our 13 June report Russia Issues Grim Report On North American Magnetic Anomaly, General Bondarev is heading the scientific mission that detected this “severe mysterious magnetic anomaly” discovered by the Kosmos 2473 satellite on 3 June occurring in the Yellowstone region, and which in turn was further linked to the mysterious earthquake swarm hitting the Brooks Range mountains in Alaska which seismologists are still at a loss to explain.

Also to note, and, likewise, as we had reported on in our 29 June report World Goes On “High Alert” After Arizona Quake Confirms Worst Fears, within 10-days of General Bondarev’s 13 June warning a “precursor” to a potential “catastrophic event” did indeed occur in Alaska when this region was struck by a powerful 7.9 magnitude earthquake on 23 June.

According to this new report, General Bondarev states that his capabilities in monitoring and reporting on this magnetic anomaly were “greatly enhanced” this past week by the 3 July launching of 3 additional Gonets-М1 satellites whose primary purpose is to provide communication services in remote areas with underdeveloped infrastructure as well as perform ecological, industrial and scientific monitoring.

In the “linking” of today’s deadly 6.9 Mexican earthquake with the Alaskan magnetic anomaly, this report continues, Gonets-M1 data showed that Saturdays 4.6 Southern California earthquake at the southern end of the San Andreas Fault “magnetically rebounded” to its most northern end in Mammoth Lakes California today, then traveled to Alaska, then back to Mexico less than 5 minutes later.

Specifically, this report says, (and confirmed by the USGS) today’s 2.8 Mammoth Lakes, California earthquake occurred at 06:29:56 UTC…followed less than an hour later by the 3.0 magnitude earthquake at Cold Bay, Alaska at 07:19:27 UTC…which in turn was followed 4 minutes later by the deadly 6.9 magnitude earthquake in Puerto Madero, Mexico at 07:23:55 UTC, which then was followed by three more quakes: 1.) 2.9 Mammoth Lakes, California at08:27:11 UTC 2.) 2.6 Mammoth Lakes, California at 08:32:08 UTC, and 3.) 2.6 Mammoth Lakes, California at 08:46:01 UTC.

Russian capabilities in researching earthquakes via magnetic anomalies, it should be noted, was developed in the 1950’s by the former USSR and France and is called Magnetotellurics, which is an electromagnetic geophysical method of imaging the earth's subsurface by measuring natural variations of electrical and magnetic fields at the Earth's surface.

Raising Russian concerns regarding the magnetic anomalies now occurring in North America, this report continues, is that this region (indeed the entire world) has experienced more large earthquakes this year than at any other time in recorded history.

These Russian findings were confirmed this past week when Dr. Tom Parsons, a research geophysicist with the US Geological Survey (USGS) in Menlo Park, California released a new study on this troubling occurrence and stated, “We have recently experienced a period that has had one of the highest rates of great earthquakes ever recorded.”

Unlike their Western counterparts, however, who state that “the number of quakes [this year] can still be explained by random chance”, Russian researchers, in their utilization of Magnetotellurics data, paint a much more disturbing picture of what is actually occurring.

And according to General Bondarev’s new report, the “magnetic anomalous” readings now emanating from the San Andreas Fault since this mornings earthquakes in California, Alaska and Mexico are now at levels “not seen in history.”

Critical to note is that General Bondarev is not alone in warning about this region as a study in 2006 concluded that the San Andreas Fault has reached a sufficient stress level for the next “big one”, or a M ≥ 7.0, to occur.

It also concluded that the risk of a large earthquake may be increasing more rapidly than researchers had previously thought. The paper stated that, while the San Andreas Fault had experienced massive earthquakes in the central (1857) and northern (1906) segments, the southern section of the fault has not seen any similar rupture for at least 300 years.

Such an event would result in substantial damage to Palm Springs and other cities in San Bernardino, Riverside and Imperial counties in California, and Mexicali municipality in Baja California. It would be felt throughout much of Southern California, including densely populated areas of San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Ensenada and Tijuana, Baja California, San Luis Rio Colorado in Sonora and Yuma, Arizona. It concluded:

“The information available suggests that the fault is ready for the next big earthquake but exactly when the triggering will happen and when the earthquake will occur we cannot tell It could be tomorrow or it could be 10 years or more from now.”
