Strong Earthquake Hits Indonesia; No Casualties
A strong and shallow undersea earthquake hit parts of Indonesia's Sumatra island on Sunday, causing panic but there were no immediate reports of casualties. The U.S. Geological Survey said the 6.2-magnitude quake hit at a depth of 9 kilometers (5.5 miles) beneath the sea. It was centered 319 kilometers (197 miles) southwest of Banda Aceh, the capital of Aceh province.

Federal health-care subsidies may be too high or too low for more than 1 million Americans
The government may be paying incorrect subsidies to more than 1 million Americans for their health plans in the new federal insurance marketplace and has been unable so far to fix the errors, according to internal documents and three people familiar with the situation. The problem means that potentially hundreds of thousands of people are receiving bigger subsidies than they deserve.

The US Geological Survey said the quake hit at a depth of nine kilometers, just over 300 kilometers west of the coastal city Banda Aceh.

Ukraine is edging towards "the point of no return", a senior UN official says, amid rising tensions between security forces and pro-Russia separatists. UN Assistant Secretary General for Human Rights Ivan Simonovic told the BBC that the crisis had worrying echoes of the 1990s war in his native Croatia.

Record Balkan floods claim at least 20 lives
Tens of thousands fled their homes Saturday in Bosnia and Serbia, evacuated by boat or helicopter as rising waters surged into villages and towns. Authorities said the record flooding killed at least 20 people and the death toll could rise further. Meteorologists say the flooding is the worst since records began 120 years ago and is due to a three-month amount of rain that fell on the region in just three days.

Arkansas court halts gay marriages pending appeal
The Supreme Court of the US state of Arkansas has halted same-sex marriages pending an appeal against a lower court ruling overturning a voter-backed ban. On Friday the court suspended the ruling by a Pulaski County circuit judge, but it was unclear whether his ruling applied to other counties. Since the courthouses opened on Monday, hundreds of gay couples have wed.

Report: UN organization concerned by rise in honor killings in West Bank
UN Women, the United Nations' organization for women's rights, is "seriously concerned" by rising rates of violence against women, including honor killings in the West Bank, according to a report by the Palestinian news agency Ma'an. The UN statement highlighted the Palestinian Authority's recent endorsement of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
