I totally missed this point about the Temple:

But it happened that night that the word of God came to Nathan, saying, “Go and tell My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord: “You shall not build Me a house to dwell in. For I have not dwelt in a house since the time that I brought up Israel, even to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another."

I, too, thought that God was speaking of Solomon building the temple because David had shed too much blood. He, gathered all the materials for the temple. This is what we were taught. Although, I learned later that this End Time Temple would not be built by man thus abandoned the notion we, Christians, had to support Israel's desire to see a rebuilt temple on the Temple Mount. Another good example of how we can learn daily from others that find the finer points to what is taught.

Although he didn't ask for it, God did occupy the Temple for a while but clearly left that place when two years prior to it's destruction by the Babylonians, the Shekinah Glory departed. I had read that also, that the two parts of the Eastern Gate opened by itself, normally taking many men to push open those heavy doors. Again, God showed that the old Temple rituals weren't adequate when the very heavy curtain in front of the Holy of Holies was torn in half from top to bottom when the Corner Stone, Jesus Christ, paid the price.

I believe the same system that has made Temple/Church buildings so important in our lives, had much to do with omitting the additional books that once occupied scriptures.

By wanting to know the truth, we do exactly what we are told to do, search out the scriptures and believe me, it doesn't all come in one sitting.

I thank you for bring this point to mind.

Hi Patti,

Good article!

I struggled with a lot of what the church had to say to me since being a Christian for 17 years now ( 18 years )

Pastors, teachers, church buildings, temples, synagogues, bible studies, leadership training etc...carnal vs. spiritual.

My experience has been I have learned the most sitting at the feet of the FATHER ( GOD, bible and prayer in Jesus name! ) and then serving others.

Everyone has a different experience and I will not argue with them but for me I do not endorse denominations, churches etc. I prefer to study on my own in the quiet between the bible, Holy Spirit and ask for God to teach me all things in JESUS NAME.

I have a lot to unlearn ( 7 pre tribulation rapture, who ISRAEL is , to name a few Christmas , easter and other pagan celebrations )

This is something I have been taught by the Holy Spirit but you can't learn sometimes unless you make mistakes haha!

Thanks God HIS MERCIES are NEW everyday!
