THE 'YEAR 1611' ORIGINAL TRANSLATION OF THE KING JAMES BIBLE..........







I use, as my BASE reference, the 'year 1611' original translation of the King James Bible. That is the best we have. All other versions fall short.

Don't get me wrong I'm not arguing the accuracy of the KJV however, I could also say the KJV falls short.

Let me explain, there are words in the original texts that that don't have english equivalents so translators have to pick words that come the closest or choose a phrase that conveys the meaning. That's what the 54 scholars who composed "the right version" did. Sometimes even when you have the same word it can mean something slightly different. So the difficulty I have with the KJV is often you have to translate twice.

What I mean by that is in the time that translation was written, some of those words aren't even used today, and others that are sometimes don't mean the same thing as they did back in 1611. So for some such as myself reading the KJV is 'for me' arduous. It's difficult to memorize 'for me' because it is not my natural speaking language.

So is there a modern day translation that is just as accurate as the KJV for it's time. I would argue yes. NASB and the Amplified

I read the 1611 and after reading it .....just like anything....if you do it (READ YOUR BIBLE ) over and over consistently it is easier to read.

That is my 2 cents about KJV

Now if you will the time to watch the video's on these links then maybe you will see why the NASB or any other version might give you pause to use.

Here's an example of what I'm saying:

Revelation 11:2
King James Version (KJV)
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.


Revelation 11:2
Amplified Bible (AMP)
2 But leave out of your measuring the court outside the sanctuary of God; omit that, for it is given over to the Gentiles (the nations), and they will trample the holy city underfoot for 42 months (three and one-half years).


If you take the first sentence in this verse reading the KJV you could easily misunderstand what it is saying because of the the term without. It's a word we use today but back then it meant outside. Today we use without to mean to not have.

Today you wouldn't say "Go without and play" people might give you funny looks, so like I said sometimes the KJV can fall short too and also needs caution when reading.

Steven I might be more inclined if you could be more specific. I'm not trying to shortcut the process and my questions really are rhetorical. But at the same time are you sure you understand my point? Because I'm not arguing the accuracy of the KJV. I fully agree with the process in which it was composed and there are modern translations that adhere to that model.

Many people have not even read their bible cover to cover over and over yet but want quick answers...studying the bible is a process you can speed up the process by reading your bible over and over....watching the videos on this site and pray for the Holy Spirit to teach you all things.

Let the Holy Spirit answer your questions by studying.
