Matthew 22:14

I am betting my eternal life that my interpretation of the Scriptures is correct, and abides in the doctrine of Christ.




So also are you, betting your eternal life, even if you may not know it ! You had better be sure that you also abide in the doctrine of Christ.




2 John 1:9

"Whoever transgresses, and DOES NOT ABIDE IN THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son."




I take my Christianity VERY SERIOUSLY ! AND SO SHOULD YOU ! Don't take any one's word for anything.

A person's eternal life is not based on how they interpret Scripture...it is based on being BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE. That is the all and everything of the matter. For if one is not BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE, one does not have the Holy Spirit and therefore will not be able to correctly divide the Word.

It seems to me you are basing your salvation on "intelligence" and the Mind and not the Spirit and the heart. The Lord only sees our hearts in regards to being chosen, it has nothing to do with our interpretations of His Word and is all about letting Him LIVE IN US.

Bet your eternal life on being BORN AGAIN, as that is a much safer bet.

JESUS IS ALL AND EVERYTHING!!

"He who rejects Me, and DOES NOT RECEIVE MY WORDS HAS THAT WHICH JUDGES HIM -- THE WORD THAT I HAVE SPOKEN will judge him in the last day."

Bruce,

I know you need to have the last word on everything, even if you use Scripture. My point is there is no way to have the DOCTRINE OF CHRIST if one is not FIRST BORN AGAIN!!

You know this is the truth.

I am in agreement with your statement that if you are not born again you CANNOT abide in the doctrine of Christ, BUT many who ARE born again DO NOT abide in the doctrine of Christ and will NOT enter heaven.




That is the reason for the following Scripture ;




Matthew 7:21

"Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, BUT HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN."







So you see, being born-again is NOT ENOUGH. You must ALSO "do the will of My Father in heaven."




God will ALWAYS HAVE THE LAST WORD.
