At least four Egyptian embassy personnel have been kidnapped in the Libyan capital Tripoli, the Libyan foreign ministry says. Another embassy official was seized in the Libyan capital on Friday. Several kidnappings of officials in Libya recently have been blamed on militias. They are often paid by the government, but their allegiance and who controls them remain in doubt.
Argentina to ease foreign exchange controls after peso slump
Argentina is to relax its strict foreign exchange controls, a day after the peso suffered its steepest daily decline in 12 years. Cabinet chief Jorge Capitanich said the country would reduce the tax rate on dollar purchases and allow the purchase of dollars for savings accounts. The measures would take effect from Monday, he said.
6.1 magnitude earthquake strikes off Indonesia
A 6.1-magnitude earthquake has struck close to Indonesia's main island of Java on Saturday afternoon. Local officials say there is no risk of a tsunami. Smith & Wesson to End Most CA Sales Due to Microstamping Regulation
On January 22nd renowned gun maker Smith & Wesson joined Sturm, Ruger, & Co., by announcing it would cease California sales of its semi-automatic pistols due to microstamping requirements that went into effect last year.
