There is so much wisdom in Proverbs and there is not one thing in our lives that you can't find a solution by reading and applying.

A good name is rather to be chosen than riches reminds me of long ago when my boys were little. my second husband adopted them. I bought plagues with their last name written thereon and posted them over each of their rooms. Along with that came the lessons of living up to their name and appreciating the father that gave it to them but more importantly, they learned, in our home, integrity, honesty and being satisfied with what they had. Sure, each has gone on to do his own thing but each has not forgotten these lessons. The needs of the poor always tug at their hearts and the youngest son, especially, is so determined to have integrity and be able to look someone in the face that he would rather do without the added income of an account than do business with someone he cannot trust. He always thanks us for that lesson because it has proven to be sound policy.

No, he does not go to church but God lives in his heart, easily seen by his actions that speak louder than words.

I loved today's Proverbs; all of them but especially the importance of choosing to have a good name earned by one's own honest dealings with others.
