Strong's Greek Lexicon defines word # 4440 'carcass' as: a corpse, a dead body, lifeless, a ruin, or carrion.

Who, in their right mind would say that the "carcass" referred to in the following Scripture is Jesus Christ. I THINK NOT !!!

Matthew 24:28

"Wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together."

Bruce,

Thought this would interest you. I tried to ignore what you are putting out there, but the Lord would not let me do it on this one.

You said to test the "spirits" so I am taking your advice. Let us look at the three other Scriptures where this exact word and usage is used in the rest of the New Testament. In fact, this word and usage is only used 4 times in the whole of the Bible. I think you will see that "the slain body" in Matt. 24, is the same kind of slain body referred to as first, Christ Himself and then the Two Witnesses.

Mat 24:28
" For wheresoever the carcase G4430 is, there will the eagles be gathered together. "

Here are the other three.

Mar 6:29
"And when his disciples heard of it, they came and took up HIS CORSPE, G4430 and laid it in a tomb."

Rev 11:8
" And their DEAD BODIES G4430 shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified."

Rev 11:9
"And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their DEAD BODIES G4430 three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies G4430 to be put in graves."

This is very telling and certainly points to the slain body in Matt. 24 as being Christ's. Did you happened to look at the other usages when coming to the conclusions you do?

Not ONCE is this word used to describe some dead carcass of some filthy dead animal or person. The only 4 times it is used is to describe Christ and His Two Witnesses. That tells me the true Spirit of these passages.

Possibly you have a good explanation of this, and in that case I would love to hear it. Please treat me with the same respect you would like for yourself, there is no need to be cruel or demeaning.

I am your sister in Christ, Bruce. I am not some unbelieving tare, and I do not appreciate you inferring that anyone who disagrees with you is stupid or worthless.

We are to love one another and support our mutual love for the Lord. I am doing my best to handle this issue in that light...please do the same for me.
