FEAST OF TRUMPETS and The Book of Revelation

FOR FAIR USE AND EDUCATION AND DISCUSSION PURPOSES

Recently when I posted a study on the meaning of the Feast of Tabernacles (in the spiritual sense), I was told that the NEXT "Feast of God" to come was the Feast of Trumpets, which is supposed to signify the "rapture of the church" prior to the wrath of God.

For me, the Feast of Trumpets signifies NOTHING about any pleasant time coming to the "body of Christ", which, for the most part is apostate today. There are trumpets (seven) in the Book of Revelation, and they ALL signify JUDGMENT upon the world in general for turning from God to worshipping the "works of their hands", "worship of devils", "murders" (hating is murder), "sorcery" (taking drugs is among this sin), and "thefts"...see Rev.9:20-21.

And were not "2 witnesses" required for the beginning time of the Feast of Trumpets...the sight of the new moon? And there are "2 witnesses" in Revelation chapter 11 as well. Should this draw our attention to what the Feast of Trumpets is all about? JUDGEMENT!

The Book of Revelation is also associated with the Feast of Tabernacles...see Rev. 7:9 (check out the use of "palms" concerning this Feast of God). But, that is another study.

First piece of link article below:

The trumpets of history sounded to alert people of the final judgments;
their trumpet blast was to call people back a into covenant relationship with their God.
They were designed to call people to repent but "they repented not of their sins." The Book of Revelation reveals Christ working out the provisions of God’s Covenant in the Last Days. It also reveals Christianity's Response to that Covenant

Another piece of link article:

When the seventh trumpet is blown, it is then that the door into the most Holy is opened in the temple of heaven and the ark of the covenant is seen, and the 24 elders announce that the time of judgment has come.

The 7th trumpet announces the investigative judgment in Revelation chapter 11:18-19. Probation is not closed before then.

Following the sixth trumpet the people are told to go and prophecy again before many peoples and nations and tongues and kings. (Rev. 10:11)

So probation is still open as late as the sixth trumpet!

The thunders were about to be revealed after the sixth trumpet-- but they were sealed. (Rev. 10:4) We are told it wasn't time yet but in the days of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God would be wrapped up and finished. (Rev. 10:7)

People thought Christ was coming in 1844 --they gave the loud cry-- it was a sweet message, but the disappointment made it bitter in their belly. It wasn't time yet for Christ to come, for "the mystery of God" was not yet finished, His work in the Most Holy was now to commence. (Rev. 11:19)

Instead of welcoming the Lord after the sixth trumpet, God's people were commissioned to go and preach again, to all nations, this time including the message contained in the seventh trumpet, which is the three angel's messages of Rev. 14. And yes, it is after that--at the end of the seventh trumpet that thunders and voices are finally heard. These noises do not occur BEFORE THE TRUMPETS sound-- but after the trumpets have sounded-- because the censor is not cast down till after the judgment in the Most Holy Place is finished.

****************

Could the 3 "WOES" IN Rev. 8:13 indicate the 3 WORLD WARS to come? WWI (first "Woe") has come and gone, as has WWII (second "Woe"). Are we in WWIII now...or is much worse to come. We ALL have to prepare for what is to come in our lives, and "endure to the end". The "rapture" route is not endurance...it is cowardice and fear!

Re: FEAST OF TRUMPETS and The Book of Revelation

Almost correct.....

The next Feast to be will be the feast of trumpets whether that is the rapture or not is to be seen.

Passover - completed

Unleaven bread - completed

First fruits - completed

Pentecost - completed

based on my interpretation

feast of trumpets - yet to be completed

day of atonement - yet to be completed

tabernacles - yet to be completed

again based on my understanding and interpretation.

Re: Meaning of ALL the Feasts of God

We really can't separate one "Feast Day" from another, as they are ALL intertwined as the plan of God for salvation of the whole world. Although we can actually "see" some of them as happening in a short period of time, such as the "Passover"....others require time periods rather than just certain days....and they are more obscure to us.

I searched around to find out the "best" answer of the meaning of the Feasts of God in Leviticus 23, and this one was the most concise:

***

The Feast of Tabernacles symbolized the sojourning of ancient Israel, and the fact that they "dwelt in booths" (tabernacles) as a temporary dwelling-place. The Christian is, today, "a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people ... as strangers and pilgrims..." (1 Peter 2:9-17). Primarily, however, the Festival of Tabernacles is the "feast of ingathering" in the fall of the year; a festival celebrating the great harvest. It foretells the coming of the Kingdom of God to this earth; it was a time of great rejoicing (and is still so celebrated by those who understand that these days are to be observed) portraying the soon-coming Kingdom of God on earth.

And it pictures when the whole world will be keeping this Feast, like or not.
Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

And lets not forget, it was wrote in stone as a commandment.

Exo 34:22 And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.

What is God's wonderful plan for man?

1) The Passover (Lord's Supper) and the shedding of the blood of the paschal lamb was symbolic of Christ's sacrifice. In the New Testament, Christ's substitution of unleavened bread and a sip of wine (symbols of His broken body and shed blood) replaced the paschal lamb, but symbolized the same thing (Matthew 26:26-28). The Christian's partaking of the Passover symbolizes his acceptance of the shed blood of Jesus Christ as his personal Savior to atone for his sins (1 Corinthians 11:23-30).

(2) The Days of Unleavened Bread symbolize living a life of overcoming; leavened bread symbolizes being "puffed up," or filled with the baser elements of human nature such as vanity, ego, jealousy, greed, etc. The eating of unleavened bread for seven days (originally, in direct connection with the Passover in Egypt and the Exodus) is symbolic of the Christian's life of overcoming after acceptance of Christ and baptism (1 Corinthians 5:2-8; Leviticus 23:5, 6).

(3) The Feast of Pentecost (Acts 2; Leviticus 23:9-16) is the feast of "firstfruits" and is a shadowy type of the fact that God is not trying to save the whole world NOW; that He is calling but a "firstfruits," unto the Lord; that Jesus Christ is the "first" of the firstfruits, and that the great, latter-day harvest of human lives is yet to follow. "Pentecost" merely means "fiftieth," and is an anglicized version of the Greek name for the "Feast of Firstfruits" which fell fifty days after the weekly Sabbath during the Days of Unleavened Bread.

(4) The Feast of Trumpets (Leviticus 23:23; Numbers 29: 1) is a festival which primarily focuses on the "last trump" (1 Corinthians 15:52), which sounds at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, although it includes the meaning of all of the "trumpets" connected with the plagues of God revealed in the book of Revelation (Revelation 8:6, 7, 8, 10, etc.) and symbolizes an ANNOUNCEMENT, a WARNING to the inhabitants of the earth of the imminent arrival of Christ. As such, the Feast of Trumpets is also a celebration connoting the WORK OF GOD which is to be accomplished on earth; that of preaching the gospel of the Kingdom of God as a witness and a warning (Matthew 24:14).

(5) The Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:27-29) contained many shadowy types and examples in its original observance, and is still observed today by fasting (Acts 27:9, margin). It is a day which symbolizes "at-one-ment" with God; and portrays the time in the future when the whole world will ultimately be reconciled with God.

(6) The Feast of Tabernacles symbolized the sojourning of ancient Israel, and the fact that they "dwelt in booths" (tabernacles) as a temporary dwelling-place.

(7) The Last Great Day (Leviticus 23:39), falling immediately after the Feast of Tabernacles is the seventh of God's annual holy days, and portrays the "great white throne judgment' (Revelation 20: 11) and the second resurrection (Revelation 20:5) when, during a period of an apparent one hundred years (Isaiah 65:20), a time of judgment (not sentencing!) w
Source(s):
a time of judgment (not sentencing!) will take place for all those who were never called and never given a true opportunity for salvation during their lifetimes.

Thus, in the seven annual festivals or annual holy days is seen a complete type or shadowy representation of the very PLAN OF GOD!

*************

These Feast Days were shown as an example (shadow) of God's whole plan with all of Mankind. The spiritual realities began with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ as the "Passover Lamb", but it will continue through the "great white throne judgment"....

Trumpets are warnings of things to come....Leviticus 23:25 and Exodus 19:13 are first mentions of "trumpet" and "trumpets", and they are concerned with "fire" and "death". Trumpet judgments in the Book of Revelation show this perfectly.

God is concerned with the salvation of ALL of Mankind...but judgment comes first on the "house of God" (church)...I Peter 4:17. And I don't think an effective "judgment" will be pulling people out of it so they won't have to endure it. God places a lot of emphasis on "endurance"....

And all these "Feasts" have to be viewed collectively, rather than individually, to see this whole plan. Christians all through the age of "grace" have been judged...and so will we all. Jesus started it, and it will also be completed in Jesus Christ..."Behold, I come quickly"...Rev.3:11, Rev.22:7, and Rev.22:12...

It has been going on for around 2,000 years now...and it will come to a conclusion "quickly"...that's what we are told in the Bible.

Re: FEAST OF TRUMPETS and The Book of Revelation

The scriptures in the bible can and do have many different layers of meaning it is alive and dynamic...

So to say that the Feast of the LORD could and do have many different application can be a safe statement.
