FOR FAIR USE AND EDUCATION AND DISCUSSION PURPOSES



Trying to put forth information to fellow Christians (when they have been taught doctrines in churches by Pastors) has proved almost futile here. Without even READING the material, arguments are made by saying "That's not true!" or "You are wrong!" or "That person doesn't know anything!" (or other such SUBJECTIVE attacks on the material provided) and never putting forth an OBJECTIVE argument, showing scripture to prove your point.

This causes hard feelings and arguments. And it ends discussion....resulting in there being further "splits" in the "body of Christ than previously. All are out to prove, "I'm right, and the other person is wrong"!! Period!! WE LEARN NOTHING THAT WAY!

This link article is a great example of how Christians SHOULD conduct themselves. State the subject under discussion, then discuss alternate opinions with PROOF TEXTS included. It provides a marvelous discussion on both sides.....and it then allows for all to come to their own conclusions from hearing RATIONAL discussions from BOTH SIDES:

Sorry, no hints this time. You will have to OPEN the link and READ IT. Both sides show excellent points, and a LOT can be learned about the Bible of which most "church-going" Christians have insufficient knowledge to even carry on a logical discussion. The only opinions they have heard are the ones of their own Pastor.....one-sided only. The truth comes from hearing BOTH sides...and then coming to a conclusion of your own.

Should you want to join in this discussion of Christians with thinking brains, as these obviously are....then there is an area of "reply" at the bottom. I do not think that a reply of "You are wrong!" (and not providing your reasons for belief) will cause a pleasant reaction.

I Peter 3:15-17..."....and be ready ALWAYS to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear; (vs.16) Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, that may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. (vs. 17) For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing."

No comments to this post are solicited unless they are conducive to learning. You will understand PROPER Christian communication if you read the link article. And you may come to your own conclusions by learning something that is presented logically and with scripture discussion.

Hello Arlene!

AMEN to your post!! So true about how people respond to a study with just objections with no scriptural backing or with doing their own research into the matter. I have had so many people do this to me and it really gets old!!

I read the whole article about HELL, and must say that both sides had really good points. Although it was a long article it is well worth the read. Thanks for sharing that as it helped me understand the correct and only way to debate scriptural issues.
