Are we Christians to be concerned with "Jacob's trouble"??...Jeremiah 30:7

Jacob was a "supplanter" BEFORE his encounter with the angel at the "ford Jabbok" (Genesis 32:22-28). When he became a BELIEVER, his name was changed to "Israel" which means "Prince of God".

All who became believers AFTER THIS are called "Israel" because they believed God. Jacob was NOT A JEW. If he were a "Jew" then Esau (his twin) would also be a "Jew". And the FIRST TIME the word "Jew" is in the Bible is in II Kings 16:6...and that was VERY LONG TIME after Jacob had his name changed. Besides that, it was Israel who were in adversity with the Jews all through the latter part of the OT.

So, "Jacob" has nothing to do with Christianity. People, in general, are represented by Jacob before they become Christian BECAUSE they are unbelievers, and "supplanters". After we are saved, we are "spiritual Israel"...God tells us this in Romans 2:29....and in Galatians 6:15-16.

As for "Jacob's trouble"....where does it say in the Bible that the "GREAT TRIBULATION" is JACOB'S TROUBLE?? That is, if there is even such a time coming in the future. I can't find that one ANYWHERE. I do know that Daniel 9:27 happened back in 70 AD....and this was pretty bad for "Jacob" at that time. So, I guess, in that way, you can equate the Jews with Jacob (if you really want to stretch credibility). But I can't reconcile why Esau isn't a "Jew" if Jacob is supposed to be.

Jacob, or ANY "trouble" he may have, does not mean the "great tribulation"(if this even were in the Bible) And it certainly doesn't concern any Christian (we each have enough "tribulation" on our own).
