FOR FAIR USE AND EDUCATION AND DISCUSSION PURPOSES
Christians (usually "church-goers") look forward to "THE GREAT TRIBULATION" with fear and dread (and excitement!!)....and looking to the EAST. But they are looking at the Land of the Jews instead of learning God's way of dealing with things in their Bibles.
Centuries ago, Christians DIED for want of what you can pick up in your two hands EVERY DAY! And you don't use this precious gift God has given to us. Instead, you want to go to a "building" (not Biblical) to listen to what some other person (Pastor...male or female) TELLS YOU IT SAYS. (warning against doing this in I John 2:27 ). That's DISOBEDIENCE to God!
What does "THE GREAT TRIBULATION? mean anyway? People say it, and you automatically ASSUME it's true! Is it?
I love the "law of first mention". The FIRST time a word is used in the Bible, that verse indicates what that word means...usually. So, how about the words "THE GREAT TRIBULATION"???
IT'S NOT IN THE BIBLE AT ALL!!....ANYWHERE!
The word for "tribulation" is #6862 (Hebrew) and #2347 (Greek) and both have the SAME meaning:
Definitions are: "trouble", "a tight place", "afflicted", "adversary", "distress", "anguish", "sorrow", "trouble" "oppression", and other similar words. EVERYBODY GOES THROUGH THESE ALL THROUGH OUR LIVES.
FIRST MENTION...MEANING:
Deuteronomy 4:30-31 ..."...when thou art in TRIBULATION, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shall be obedient unto his voice; (vs.31) (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God
he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them."He is talking to Moses, as it says in verse 33..."Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast, and live?
This definition speaks NOTHING of some "GREAT TRIBULATION" in the future.
How about ALL the other uses of that word....
Judges 10:14...."...let them deliver you in the time of your TRIBULATION..."
I Samuel 26:24..."...and let Him deliver me out of all TRIBULATION..."
Matthew 13:21..."..for when TRIBULATION or persecution ariseth...."
Matthew 24:21..."then there shall be GREAT TRIBULATION..."
Matthew 24:29..."after the TRIBULATION of those days.."
Mark 13:24..."after that TRIBULATION..."
John 16:33..."in the world ye shall have TRIBULATION"...
Acts 14:22..."we must through much TRIBULATION enter into the Kingdom of God..."
Romans 2:9..."TRIBULATION and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil..."
Romans 5:3..."but we glory in TRIBULATION"....
Romans 8:35...."Who shall separate us from the love of Christ" shall TRIBULATION, or distress,...etc."
Romans 12:12...""Rejoicing in hope; patient TRIBULATION; continuing in prayer"...
II Corinthians 1:4..."Who comforteth us in all our TRIBULATION.."
II Corinthians 7:4..."I am exceeding joyful in all our TRIBULATION...."
I Thessalonians 3:4..."we told you before that we should suffer TRIBULATION.."
II Thessalonians 1:6..."Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense TRIBULATION to them that trouble you..."
Revelation 1:9..."Whom also am your brother and companion in TRIBULATION..."
Revelation 2:9..."I know they works, and TRIBULATION and poverty...."
Revelation 2:10..."ye shall have TRIBULATION ten days..."
Revelation 2:22..."I will cast her....into GREAT TRIBULATION, except they repent..."
Revelation 7:14..."These are they which came out of GREAT TRIBULATION....
AND ON THE WORD "TRIBULATIONS"...
I Samuel 10:19..."who himself saved you out of all you adversaries and your TRIBULATIONS..."
Romans 5:3...."And not only so, but we glory in TRIBULATIONS also: knowing that TRIBULATION worketh patience..."
Ephesians 3:13..."Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my TRIBULATIONS for you, which is your glory..."
II Thessalonians 1:4..."So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and TRIBULATIONS that ye endure..."
THAT'S ALL OF THEM!! All the words concerning "tribulation" that are in my Bible are included in that list. I do not see the word "Israel" or "Jew" or the word "THE" in any except Matthew 24:29...which is the ONLY ONE pointed to when speaking of "the great tribulation". You should not make a doctrine out of ONE scripture. Besides, God told us that the TRIBULATIONS we go through on a daily basis will increase more and more as we are near the final "revelation" of Jesus Christ.
There is NOTHING even indicating the "70th week of Daniel". We ALL GO THROUGH "TRIBULATION" ON A DAILY BASIS....and it's according to what God feels we need to perfect and mature us. And it's getting worse and worse for EACH ONE OF US. It will climax with the revealing of the sons of God...see Romans 8:19.
But, everyone can judge for themselves. Anyone can be wrong..even me! Look at, and study those verses. The Holy Spirit of God should make it clear to those who want to know the truth...
When I first discovered this, it put me almost in a state of grief! Everything I had believed for so long....CRUSHED AND BROKEN! And now, I'm learning the truth. My only "authority" is the Bible, and that's only through eyes "opened" by the Holy Spirit.
