Hi Steven...I started out to just say a word or two about this video...BUT, it kinda got away from me. I tend to get "wordy" when I see errors....but, here's what I think anyway...

This one was a REAL emotional adventure for me! For the first, approximately, 30 minutes of the video, I kept saying, Yes, yes, yes!!! Someone else finally has "gotten it"!!!

The description of what God has done to Israel/Judah and the Gentiles is "spot on", including the blindness to God's Word(s) in today's world. He gave an absolutely wonderful oratory about this. I had no disagreement with everything he said....UP TO A CERTAIN POINT, however.

Shortly after or around the 30-minute mark, he lost me! I'll try to make random comments as they come to my remembrance.

When Jesus died on the Cross of Calvary, He "confirmed" the Covenant of the NT with His Blood....See Galatians 3:17. This cancelled out the Levitical laws in the OT of sacrifices and other temple requirements. We no longer have to keep ANY of those rules and regulations.

However, we have God's Laws (the Ten Commandments) WRITTEN IN OUR HEARTS. We don't have any rules to follow except what the "bottom line" of those Ten Commandments are, and this is told to us in the Bible:

Luke 10:27...(Jesus, Himself, is pointing this out in vs.26).."And he answering said, 'Thou shalt LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL THY MIND; and THY NEIGHBOUR AS THYSELF.'"

That's it!! The Ten Commandments ARE "loving God", and "loving your neighbor"...and those things we instinctively KNOW when we receive the Holy Spirit of God upon salvation.

The FIRST 5 Commandments are what we should do to display our love for God.

The SECOND 5 Commandments are how we are to display "loving our neighbor"

Jesus Christ, Himself tells us in Mark 2:27.."And He said unto them, 'The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath."

God has made a day of REST from our week's work through commanding a "sabbath day". Pastor Smith even said that it was like an "intermission" in definition. In the OT days, NO WORK AT ALL was done on that day. This was the example we are supposed to take. We are to DO NO WORK, IF AT ALL POSSBLE! We are to REST....RELAX...ENJOY YOUR FAMILY...READ THE BIBLE TOGETHER...PRAY TOGETHER...ETC. This is what "remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy" means. It is for our benefit, rest, family, and showing our love for God. We should actually, worship and love God EVERY day, and not just reserve one day a week for this.

What it DOES NOT mean is getting up early, dressing up, driving to some meeting place, following a lot of rules, regulations, and rituals, and then return home to watch television.

But, pastors cannot preach this, or they will lose money. Having people come to church is their source of income. And, when "believers" assemble together, they were NOT to include those who did not believe. This rule is broken by ALL churches as well. "Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers...etc"....see II Cor.6:14

As for the "pearl of great price" in Matthew 13:45...this is referring to Jesus Christ (the "merchant man") finding his Church (pearl of great price) and "purchasing it" by selling everything He had....by giving his Life's Blood for us. We are represented as "New Jerusalem" in Rev. chapter 20 as the "gates of pearls". This is the Kingdom of God.

My final comment is on the new, or "baby" Christian. They "drink milk" because they haven't grown through the Word(s) of God yet. So, I think the WORST thing they can do is join a church that may teach the wrong doctrine. What if a new Christian picks the Mormon Church, or decides to check out the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall...or SDA Church...or a Pentecostal church...and etc, etc. The "planted seed" will shortly die.

Is the Pastor of any church even saved, himself? None of us know that, so we can't be sure, especially if we are a new Christian. All church-going Christians truly believe that what their pastors tell them is the truth. Do they go home and search the bible? Probably not. And this is where wrong doctrine comes from.

God tells us EXACTLY what to do in John 16:13 (Jesus's own words)..."Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth is come, HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL TRUTH; for he shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and he will shew you things to come."

I John 2:27-28..."But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye NEED NOT THAT ANY MAN TEACH YOU: but as the same anointing teacheth you of ALL THINGS, and is TRUTH, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him. (vs.28) And now, LITTLE CHILDREN (new believers), ABIDE IN HIM (trust the Holy Spirit which has been given to you), that when He shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ASHAMED (of not "rightly dividing the word of truth...II Tim.2:15) before Him at His coming."

Pastor Smith is absolutely correct when he said that the pastor is not responsible for the "flock". Each new (and mature) Christian is totally responsible for himself/herself to learn from the Bible as the Holy Spirit leads.

Jesus told Simon (Peter) that if he loved Jesus, he would "feed My sheep"....see John 21:17. This must have been extremely important to Jesus because He repeated it THREE TIMES. What Jesus was referring to is "eating" the "bread of life", which means READ THE BIBLE and understand what God is telling you, personally. That is the only truth there is.

As for keeping all the rules, regulations, and "holy days", that is NOT a Christian directive:

Colossians 2:16.."Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the SABBATH DAYS: (vs.17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." (vs.18)..(vs 20 Wherefore, if ye be dead with Christ, from the rudiments of the world, WHY, AS THOUGH LIVING IN THE WORLD, ARE YE SUBJECT TO ORDINANCES, (vs.21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not; (vs.22) Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?"

We are supposed to be "dead" to the world and it's ordinances for us like they had to obey in the OT. We are now "free" in Jesus Christ. If we "Love God" and "Love our neighbor", as Jesus told us to....THIS IS FULFILLING ALL TEN COMMANDMENTS, which now are written in our hearts.

Pastor Smith would be EXTRAORDNARY if he realized the truth about this. Other than what I have pointed out, he is totally aware of correct bible doctrine as I have seen it myself (through many mistakes in the past, however).
