In today's show, Pastor Mike Hoggard discusses end times prophecy and Tom Horn's latest book, "Petrus Romanus," which is based upon Malachy's famous vision commonly known as "The Prophecy of the Popes."

The end times frenzy continues with a fevered pitch from many quarters: Bible scholars, historians, so-called modern day prophets, from believers and pagans alike. How do you know who to listen to? It doesn't have to be difficult.

Pastor Mike considers Tom Horn's new book, "Petrus Romanus," which is based upon the Malachy prophecy some centuries back, predicting the line of the popes and who the last pope would be before Armageddon. Evaluating the description of some 12 popes leading up to Pope Benedict, can any be considered accurate, let alone all of them?

God's standard is one hundred percent accuracy, 100% of the time. Would God use a Roman Catholic priest, devoted to the Vatican, to the mystery doctrines, to lay out the future for His people? Please give a listen and see what makes sense to you.

Wow! A voice of reason in a sea of eschatological confusion. Pator Mike always gets to the bottom line.

Now in all fairness, I will be watching the activities of the conclave to elect the next Pope, and if his name is Peter, I know we prophecy buffs will go ballistic.

The way I view extra Biblical prophecies is first to test them to see if they agree or disagrees with Bible prophecy. If they disagree, throw them out. If there is no disagreement with the Bible, then consider them, but do not bet the bank on them.

Actually, we do not need this prophecy or the Zohar or the Book of Enoch, etc. The Bible as it is today is really all we need.

But as we look at other prophecies, let us be cautious to not let our excitment get out of hand for some extra-biblical prognostication that may or may not be accurate.
