AT CREATION GOD BEGAN HIS CALENDAR
God's example to His people was that He had Moses to record in the book of Genesis that He worked six days over His creation and rested the seventh. He gave the us the Sun and the Moon as His two signs, to divide the months and the year. This was God's calendar for everyone to follow, even before there was a Jew.


ADAM
We know Adam did not have to work during his short stay in the garden of Eden as God had taken care of all his needs and was at rest as he was a sinless perfect angelic being, as God's prophet, Elijah, claims he was. But after his fall into sin and banishment from the garden of Eden he found he had to work.


ENOCH
Now Enoch walked with God, and since God is perfect and holy, and gave us His Ten Commandments, He would have taught Enoch to keep these Commandments including His seventh day of rest, and because he was obedient to God in keeping them, he was taken into Heaven.


NOAH
Noah was said to be walking with God also, so we know he also was keeping the Sabbath.


ABRAHAM
We know God considered Abraham as being righteous, for he also kept the 7th day Sabbath as he was seen in Heaven, Luke 16:19-25.


MOSES
On Mount Sinai Moses was then given to remind the Hebrews they were to keep the commandments as he, Moses, was seen to be keeping them.

We see in Exodus 20:8 it says, "Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy." If they had to be reminded, it meant that they were already familiar with the need to keep it, since they had been told that there would be no manna to be found on the seventh day, Exodus 16:26. In fact, they had already been given the commandments as we see in Exodus 16:28 for the Lord said to Moses about His people, "How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?" Later He also said, "I have seen this people, and behold, it is a stiffnecked people," Exodus 32:9. Of close to one million Hebrews, only two, Joshua and Caleb, plus the next generation were called to cross into His Promised Land.


CHANGES IN THE TIMES BY EMPEROR CONSTANTINE
It was Emperor Constantine that changed the seventh day sabbath to his sun-god worship day, demanding the Romans to worship on that day only, thus fulfilling Hebrews 7:25.

JESUS CHRIST
Our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the Lord of the Sabbath, Matthew 12:8. Nowhere in God's Word is it recorded of a change from the Sabbath. His Word never changes, and so He remains the Lord of the seventh day Sabbath unto all generations.

Elijah says many in this generation will be called a stiff-necked people, so they will receive the same kind of reward as did those Hebrews in Moses' time for their rebellion in keeping God's holy commandments including the holy seventh day Sabbath.

Jesus said He came not to destroy the Law or the prophets, but to fulfill them, and He Himself did keep them, John 15:10. If we love Him, we will keep them also, John 14:10, 1 John 2:4.
