Netanyahu to lead deeply divided Israel

With only 31 seats, the Likud Beytenu will lead an Jewish nations that will find it difficult to stay united.
Benjamin Netanyahu will find it increasingly difficult to rally the Israeli population to support a possible military attack on Iran.
The projected 31 seats was a steep drop from the 42 seats shared by Likud and Yisrael Beytenu in the last Knesset. The surprise of the election was Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid, who finished second according to the exit polls of all three Israel channels with 18-19 seats.

My comment:
As an Evangelical Christian Zionist, I do feel knowledge about Israeli politics is necessary to gain full understanding about the times we live in. As we approach the end, it will be all against the Zionists in Israel.
Yesterdays election in Israel, expose a development where Zionism seems to be on the back foot.
For many reasons, the coming year in Israel is going to be extremely difficult. Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to the voters to give him a strong mandate to deal with Iran. The electorate put their thumbs down.
The Likud-Beytenu-alliance will come back with lesser seats in the Knesset. Down from 42 to 31.
Seeing the Jewish people deeply divided, it will be difficult for Netanyahu to achieve national consensus on a military strike in Iran.
Washington will also find it easier to get their way. Obama will again try to force Israel to accept the “Saudi peace plan”, and accept that Arab nationalism will reduce the Jewish homeland to a mini-statehood, hardly possible to defend.
